Got it pre-ordered, rarely do that but I think it will get 10/10 from multiple reviewers.
Question; I have the PS4 digital version to save £10. It’s pre-loaded now. Will I have to wait until launch day to upgrade (for free) to the PS5 version?

Yeah Sony being a bit dickish on this front, the same happened with Ghost of Tsushima, the PS5 upgrade option was no where to be seen before the release day. You probably don't need to download the PS4 version to get the PS5 download to appear though but knowing how PSN fucks up I did anyway.

Is that how it works then? Why would anyone buy the digital PS5 version in that case?

They're hoping everyone forgot that Sony relented on the pricing after it was pointed out it was going to be a free upgrade months before.
A bit of inconvenience of not being able to preload I'll put up with to save 10 quid.

If you're not the kind of person who checks you'll never know about the cheaper PS4 version. It's quite a scummy thing Sony have done there.

Is that how it works then? Why would anyone buy the digital PS5 version in that case? Err, if they have a Digital PS5? Why do people still question buying digital when there’s an entire PS5 that is digital only 😂 Also, I’d never buy physical. The benefit of never having to swap discs is too great. Everything is going digital. Physical games will be a thing of the past in 5 years.

Worlds with a finger on the pulse once more. I’m not the one who questioned why someone would buy it digitally.

Why did you take issue with monkman's post then?

He was referring to the fact that if you have a ps5 why would you buy the digital ps5 version as opposed to the cheaper digital PS4 version. But I guess it was a very nuanced question. Extremely nuanced...

Because changing discs is so exhausting...
Sorry but until digital prices are cheaper than discs, which let's face it they should be due to the lack of production, packaging and transport costs, I'll keep buying physical. And I can trade or sell them when I'm done.

There are server and bandwidth costs that offset that to a degree.

There are server and bandwidth costs that offset that to a degree. Given every game on disc makes you download the whole game as a patch now anyway, not really. Digital games are so expensive as an olive branch to retail I think, and as a stark warning about what happens if retail dies and there’s only one source for your games.

I think it will get some 10/10s from reviewers, and that it will also get a couple of 8/10s that people will get irrationally angry about.

It's really weird how little I care about this coming out, given how much I love the first game.

I'm a bit like that but wouldn't surprise me if I end up buying it anyway, I'm not sure how the sequel could be as good without the cracking story but gameplay should be better and graphics are spectacular. I'm going to cave, order it and Elden Ring and not have time for them. Ny the time I get to play HFB It'll be on sale much cheaper.

Slit their wrists?! Don't be so melodramatic, let's not exaggerate things here....But yeah they would definitely threaten to kill the reviewer.

I’m actually quite surprised that people still buy physical.
Movies are more expensive on digital but physical is dying in that too. Same for music.
Digital is just far, far more convenient. There is a cost of having discs all piled up in your space, and a cost to swapping them every time, and a cost to the depressing nature of walking into some rank Game or CEX and trading them in.
I do think this will get 10/10’s all over. Maybe a couple of 9/10’s.

Don't get the surprise tbh...yes digital is convenient but with the cost of games now why wouldn't people pay the least they can?
What does having to store some discs and get off the sofa to swap them over cost you exactly? Is going into a Game store really that abhorrent to you?
If having to get off my arse to swap a disc saves me a few quid or so every game then fine by me, and I'll save even more when I trade it in.

I've ordered the physical PS4 edition but don't really know why. I'll have to download the full PS5 digital edition anyway and the disk is just a license checker. Not a game I see myself trading in either.
I think I just like disks. I like having multiple games in a series in physical form and putting them next to each other. It's satisfying.
