Ffs, all this Elden Ring talk and hype has tinged my love for HFW and DL2.
I’m like a fucking magpie. Need Elden Ring but can’t be starting another game without finishing others. Also got SIFU sitting there.
GT7 this week. This is a bonkers time.

Getting in to this but it really could have done with a brutal edit to the amount of dialogue. I'd have cut it by at least half, I know you can skip it but it's really dull.

Yeah, they've gotten better at making the characters seem more normal, every day people, but they haven't made a single one interesting and line delivery across the board feels kinda stilted.

Over halfway through and now just want to get to the end, thanks to the ridiculous amount of dialogue and story telling.
Again, video game developers can’t make great movies, so why the fuck do they attempt to write long scripts and cut scenes, like a movie.
You can count the amount of great stories in video games on one hand.

It is pretty heavy on dialogue. Picked it up after not playing it for a week (cut my thumb and D2 on PC beckoned)
Just arrived at a camp in the middle of nowhere and skipped through a mountain of side quest text as I'm really not feeling it.
Finding it very hard to get back into it, so I'll probably drop it down to easy and plough through it.

Anyone else finding the facial animations a little err... Inaccurate? The body language is quite good but the flapping lips don't sync up at all with the speech. It's so weird. OK, turns out PS4 Pro doesn't like ARC Audio. There was audio lag causing this issue.
Bought an optical cable now, massive improvment! Overall the sound quality has greatly improved. Never going back to ARC

Fine just eyerolling at your hyperbolic statement of there being hardly any good video game stories.

Fine just eyerolling at your hyperbolic statement of there being hardly any good video game stories. It’s just an opinion, you’re welcome to give your opinion if you disagree. Not just smack it down. Been playing video games for a long time, there’s a few good stories, but the majority are just ok or below. In this flurry of AAA games this year, which stories/scripts are ‘fantastic’? None.

To be fair, I am actually enjoying playing the game, but when I'm playing ,not when listening to the next character tell their life stories.

I must admit, it's pretty easy to tune out of all the dialogue - especially the sections at the Base. I'm just about keeping up with the hokey plot, mainly cos I either skip them or start looking at my phone.
Regardless, I'm still having a lot of fun with it as I build up my arsenal and upgrade to those rare weapons. The side quests are generally excellent, and the swimming mechanic is very good (just finished a large underwater section at a famous landmark which I thoroughly enjoyed).

Easy Loot makes a lot of difference. Resource harvesting is one layer of busy work too far with so much other stuff to be getting on with, so it makes getting what you need for upgrades a lot less annoying.

I need to dig through the options again, as looting is still a bit of a pain in the arse for me. Hold triangle and then press triangle again gets a bit tedious when you've got a battlefield of dead robodinos.
Really don't like the mount controls either. I changed it to always sprint as it's annoying getting up to speed when they get stuck on a twig or whatever, but still feels janky as fuck.
It's great that it's got so many accessibility options, but it feels like some of the defaults are the wrong way around.

Where are the easy loot options? I've looked for them a couple of times but didn't see anything.

You have to change difficulty to custom. There aren’t any difficulty achievements so you can make any adjustments you want.

I'm definitely all for accessibility options that allow you control over what aspects of difficulty you want to change rather than having to choose easy or hard mode if you want a particular part of the challenge but not all.

I thought videogame stories didn't matter? Or didn't matter if they were bad?
It's hard to keep up.

Video game scripts are in the majority, poor.
No talented movie director would say there’s a lot of great video game stories. TLOU, yes, some classic RPGs, yes, not much else.
Most people skip the dialogue - as above - for a reason.
I’m right, but a couple of nerds here don’t like it because it’s derogatory against their precious hobby.
Gaming is my number one love, I dumped my ex to play games once. But the scripts and stories are mostly shite.

You can't call anyone a nerd if you actually split up with a girlfriend to play video games. That is the neckbeardiest shit I've ever read.
