Moisturise. You'll want to start in your 20s. Sorry. (seriously, though - you can get anti-aging skin stuff, ideally without chemicals/toxins) Definitely this. I have always used moisturiser and got laughed at when younger. Ha, in their face. I do have increasing wrinkles under my eyes mind you - always had them, but they are noticeably worse now. On the plus side, nearly 50 and still have a full head of hair and no grey so swings and roundabouts really. I don't think you can fight it for ever, but you can definitely hold it back. I have a definite smattering of salt and pepper in the old barnet and the strange but I kinda like it. We'll see how much I like it when it's grown out a bit more. With regard to masks, those charcoal masks you can get are really effective and not expensive at all. Also, mud. Seriously. On the fizzog before a bath, leave it on as long as poss, does wonders for making the skin look better.

Face wash every day in the shower, moisturiser afterwards (Real Shaving Company, I've been using the same one for years) and a face scrub 1-2 times a week. That's about it really. I have a youngish face in general, and the lady I'm seeing at the moment has commented numerous times on my smooth skin, so I must be doing something right. Although I feel like I have aged a bit in the past few years, and am worried it will hit me more once I pass 40.

I think the important thing here to accept that you are getting old and that in many ways you are lucky in that respect. Get yourself some nice accoutrements or do something with your image. Maybe a sports car or new girlfriend

Don't drink, don't smoke (what do you do?), hydrate and moisturise. You can do relaxation if you're constantly furrowed browed and not aware of it. Keep out of the sun
Like many here, I always looked younger than my years, but like many here, over lock down, I've aged and my hair is thinning and what isn't thinning is greying. Mind you, I'm 55, so I'm lucky to still be upright.

What do people think about the colour beige?

Don't get me wrong. I'm over the moon to be generally quite healthy, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to rejuvenate my face a bit. My stupid face. So many products to choose from and I'm fishing for recommendations.

Stop putting yourself in social situations that elicit surprise or shock eyebrow responses.
You’re getting on a bit. Don’t worry about it. Keep off the smokes and a daily moisturiser will always help.
Embrace your fore(skin)head.

In the morning I use an Elemis foaming facial wash, which I massage in with a Foreo Luna facial massager. After I have washed that off with lukewarm water, I apply a Lab Series anti-aging serum. I follow that up with a Lab Series UV protecting moisturiser.
In the evening, I alternate between a purifying mud face mask or a gentle fruit acid peeler. I then apply a 2.5% retinol solution for overnight absorption: after about ten minutes I follow that up with an overnight plumping cream, typically This Works or equivalent. For dark circles under the eyes I use a Kiehl's solution, overnight and in the morning.

Reading these replies I’m struggling to deal with the revelation that the forum hasn’t always been 99.4% male. LOADS more wimin then we thought
Also, one of the consolation prizes about aging is giving less abs less of a fuck about your appearance

Also, losing weight is all well and good, but if you tend to lose weight in your face, it makes you look haggard, which is why so many skinny people look prematurely old, because there's no fat to fill out your wrinkles, which is why people get fillers.
It's all so kwrazy. So try to keep some fat in your face, k thnx.

It's just that some of us have a different definition of "getting a facial" to you. Although, I guess those cornfed oakies have plenty of protein. 😉

Going easy, in my opinion.
Each to their own. Personally, while I care enough about my appearance to not look like I slept in a hedge when I leave the house, I can’t get into the notion of devoting time abs money to hiding the life you have lived as etched in your face. Pure vanity. Exercise, weight, those things have relevance beyond ego

I think we need some photos. Not sure I trust personal testaments
I wasn't worried about my appearance until I read this thread and all the 'I'm 68 and due to having applied mousturisers from the age of 8 even my balls are completely smooth'
The woman who cuts my hair thought I was a teenager until I told her I was nearly 40 but I've never had a skin care routine and I feel like I could have done better

My balls are also completely smooth. I use Cuticura medicated talc, which lends them a remarkably youthful plasticity.

Learn to have as expressionless a face as possible at all times.
When you masturbate aim for your face unless it’s in public.

Yeah, people in this thread are between 10-20 years older than me and are just now worrying about greys, balding, wrinkles, and I'm here in my mid/late 30s feeling like a raisin.

The sun, as mentioned, is the biggest enemy, and I work outside a lot and have seen what it does to guys that didn't give a shit. Their faces look like the remnants book at DFS.
A decent UV moisturiser will do you, unless you want to go full GQ ponce.

I didn’t realize I had a bald spot till I was at a gas station a few years back that had display visible for CCTV that looked at the counter. Saw myself from behind, realized I had a pretty good spot with barely any hair.
Paid for my beer and fags, left the shop, didn’t think about it again. Can’t see it, why give a fuck?
Now, I’d prefer if I had more hair on top, for sure. But I don’t. So be it. Not worth stressing about.
Perhaps that’s why I look pretty youthful. Not stressing about the lusciousness of my skin

I don't care about things so why the fuck should you lot, thread closed. Khani wins.
It's mostly about genes anyway. If your parents looked haggard and old early, chances are you will.
Luckily I still get ID'd for beer. Fuck you old bastards.
