Certainly not! Still got the windows open for fresh air….
I did get my firewood delivered yesterday though which, with the remnants of last seasons bits should see us through the whole winter and in to spring. Looking forward to having the fire on at night and it should save us decent money on gch too.
It has gone up in price from last year though of course by about 25/30 quid.

is this the first year the "thou shalt only sell dry firewood" regs have been in force? I typically used to get dry-ish in the spring and finish off seasoning over the summer. dunno if new regs have increased costs?
for what it's worth coal (well, smokeless) was about £30/tonne cheaper this year than last

I could have bought semi-seasoned larch all this year but it’s larch and I don’t have a big enough store to adequately season it myself. Selling restrictions is all well and good but it doesn’t fix the problem of my builder neighbour burning all the kitchen work surface and osb offcuts he has lying around 😡

euwww, i'll confess to the odd fence post as kindling to get things started but osb is more glue than wood, that's got to smell horrendous (and presumably give anyone downwind a dose of fun new chemicals to breathe)

An extreme example, and I only suspect the guy of burning osb to be honest but it can be really noxious smelling. Suspect it’s regularly treated CLS from framing offcuts with little cheeky sheet materials thrown in.

Yikes he is just poisoning himself! Time to report him! Fine are coming. I don’t know where I would report him to here in Bonnie Scotland. Looked in to it a couple years ago and the local authority advice was ‘speak to your neighbour and resolve it yourself’ Yeah right

Lol! Maybe it's different in Scotland but there's a new law in England at least, and council environment officers will be enforcing.

Round here, they could start with the council depot yard across the bypass that has a regular weekly bonfire of god knows what.
