£40ish with southern water metered for 2 adults. Lots of letting yellow mellow, and just generally being stingy with water.

£53 on a meter with Thames Water. 4 bed, 2 adults, 2 kids. A kids bath every day, clothes wash every day, dishwasher every day. I do use the sprinkler a fair amount when dry, but also have like 400L of rain water stored. Looking to move to drip irrigation instead of the sprinkler. Christ! That's a lot of water use!

I tried to save water by just drinking beer but that sent me to the loo more, so your damned if you try and damned if you don’t.
Good job global warming is a myth perpetuated by the loony left.

Families use a lot of water. That's just the way it is. Our 2 are out of the nightly bath routine now, eldest will usually shower, youngest likes a bath but we'll double up mostly to make good use. 5 washing machine loads a week, I'd have said.
Out of interest, what's your food/household spends? I added ours up and it's ridiculous. Last month, about £1300 on food, drink, pet food and householdy stuff. That's mad.
Edit: estimated £250-300 on booze, we are lushes.

Why are you giving your children a bath every night? Just run a shower for them and bath once a week?

For the two of us, I’m spending around £55/week on groceries and sundries to cook fresh each evening. It does include treats etc. I’m still aggrieved at how quickly that rose from ~£40 though.

Why are you giving your children a bath every night? Just run a shower for them and bath once a week? When they are babies and toddlers, it's good to start with a bath as part of the routine. It winds them down before bed and lets them know it's nearly bedtime. It becomes less important as they get older but the habit/ritual remains.

The first time you realise a bath helps your toddler sleep is the last time you complain about the cost of filling a bath

Edit: estimated £250-300 on booze, we are lushes. That sounds insane, did you order a lot of expensive takeouts? Those can quickly spiral according to my dad. He always complained about ordering Chinese for 6 (4 men) being really expensive even though it lasted 2 days. I spent 150 euro a month on groceries, 180 if you include a couple of coffee's, a monthly small lunch and cheap dinner with friends. I cook 2 to 3 times a week taking into account discounted veggies. I almost never eat fish due to its cost and eat vegetarian 2-3 days a week. Whenever I have a friend come over I spend 20-30 euro since I value hospitality more over a slightly more luxerous evening meal. Thing is.... I have to do all this because my health costs are 300-400 euro a month. I wont bore any of you with the details but if it werent for my parents 200 euro monthly gift for these costs, I would struggle to make ends meet. I also dont have much of a issue with managing food costs since I am decent cook and have my own kitchen and grew up in relative Dutch poverty.

Nope, that is literally trips to the supermarket and stuff from Amazon for the house/pets that is on subscription. Lots of fresh stuff but also treats for the kids/Pepsi/coke etc. It's definitely where we need to budget better. There's not much wastage either but we do have lots in the freezer and pantry. Weekly shop is often £150-180, depending on where we shop, despite shifting to own brand stuff. Stuff like houmous, feta that are staples are Heller expensive.
Funnily enough, when my wife was bed bound a few years ago for a few months, our food bill dropped dramatically...

There are some mad water prices here: we're with Southern Water, a family of 4, a dishwasher, etc. and all the usual stuff and it's £22.50 a month (and that went up recently). We then pay £9 a month for Portsmouth Water (waste).
All seems a bit, wave your finger in the air and pick a price.
On a meter.

My kids come back filthy from school and kindergarten. Like they've literally been rolling around in the dirt and paint all day. And their hair is just always sticky, it's gross. A bath everyday is pretty much a must.. (it's one between them at least). But sometimes we do a shower instead.

Update on my £90/month water bill.
Just rang the bastards at Yorkshire Water, the cost is only charged over 8 months so in reality our bill is "only" £60/month
Annoying call though, the lady seemed to be trying to talk me out of a water meter implying it was a gamble. Being a twat, I pointed out that surely paying for what you use is more often than not going to be in the consumers best interest.
She ended the call trying to upsell me a variety of financial products which pissed me off as well, had to verbalise how interesting it is when a customer rings as they are spending too much money and you then try to upsell them more financial burden.
This country!
She was so mortified that I pointed this out and said "I'm so sorry, I have to ask everyone that"

What possible financial products could these people have?
I know it's "just a job" and they're "just doing as they're told" but surely they can push back or relate to line managers that it's not working. In my job, if something isn't working you take it to the manager.

This country! She was so mortified that I pointed this out and said "I'm so sorry, I have to ask everyone that" I would always suggest people to get a meter. Never trust water companies or gas to actually give you the benefit. I worked for a gas company back in 2005 and was forced by my line manager to sell products. Specifically to elderly people. I got a guilt tripping compliment that my voice is very comfortable and elderly people trust me. I spent 3 months at the job pursuading people to spent more on their monthly gas bill. Never ever felt so awfull about a job and quit relatively early (I was 16 at the time). My water company forced me to pay 19 euro a month despite my average 2 year bill of 7-9 euro. I managed to reduce the bill to 13 but its still 4 euro interest free involuntary loan they steal from me. And this is with a meter!

I'm fortunate to have always worked in Local Government partly because I know I'd struggle to sell my labour to tell lies to people in order to make my cunt bosses even richer.
Everywhere I turn it's another attempt to yank my trousers down. Cinema with kids this morning, order a popcorn and before I could say what size the Popper cuts in with "Our large is double the size of the medium and only 50p more".
"Your medium is overpriced then".
£6.50 for a large popcorn. Good one.
Edit - the Yorkshire Water upsell was a couple of different third party insurance products that seemed to insure against Yorks Water delivering a shit(ter) service.
