UHT is never the answer. It always has that shitey UHT tainted smell and taste. Blech.
Buying milk will be fine so long as it is stored correctly. In our work fridge large sizes last better than small, probably due to holding the cold better than small containers when the door is opened frequently.

UHT is the answer if you've already given up on life. Blue top ftw.

I'm not veggie or vegan, but we are plant milks all the way now. A tad more expensive but so much better for the planet.

I go through milk with my tea and coffee but I have less cereal now. Also non-milk milk is fucking awful.

In positive news, I've booked my smart meter fitting for next Saturday before my holiday and Eon are giving me back £600 in credit.
That'll pay for a second holiday.

It’s resource intensive. It takes more water to make a pint of almond milk than cow milk.

Make sure you keep it in the right place in the fridge, ie: not the door.

It's supposed to be terrible for bee populations too.
I had some almonds in my brekkie fwiw, so I'm in no position to get all high and mighty.

Yeah plant milks tend to use a shit ton of water. I switched to oat milk years ago and much prefer it to dairy. Except in tea, it’s rank in tea.

Also, by switching to plant milk you're putting cows out of work.

I only really have milk in tea. Apart from porridge in the winter and fuck using oat milk for the amount we go through.

Yeah almonds do use a lot of water, and they need a shit ton of bees for pollination, but on the flip side the trees are absorbing CO2 and not farting out shit tons of methane. Obviously, nothing is perfect, and I have developed a bit of a weird hang-up about cows milk despite still eating other dairy products.
I've found barista oat milk is fine in tea, and cheap Aldi soya milk is fine for cereal.

From the state of a lot of postings on here I'd always assumed most of us was using Baileys on their morning cereal.
Just me then?

I’ve tried cutting down/out milk and just use if for cooking now. Luckily, I generally hate milk in my drinks because I do find milk alternatives pretty gross.

The oat milk is okay in tea.
If you like porridge, anyway.

I moved from soya milk to oat milk a couple years ago (I am allergic to dairy). My wife moved to oat for her coffee a while back also, she prefers it, always asks for it when out too.
The alpro no sugar oat milk is the current favourite.
She sometimes gets the oatly full fat / barista edition for her milk frother thing, but the regular stuff works also.
We get a three times a week milk person delivery for the kids' cereal - full fat, non-homogenised stuff with the cream on top.

Also, maybe champagne socialists.

Mega Industry and farming need to sort themselves out before individuals turning to crap milk alternatives make any difference.
But its a salve for the conscience I guess.
Vanilla Soy with my porridge is my contribution

I use soy milk in cereals. Tried almond and oat milk, but there are already nuts and oats in the cereal, so putting more in kind of felt strange and also tasted bad.
