That's pretty close to what we'll be using according to the loop app. It keeps serving as a grim reminder of what's to come when our fixed rate runs out in a month... I should probably just stop looking at it.
Could be much worse I suppose. GF's brother's display was showing £120 for the week when we visited the other day.

Been hitting £12 a day the last week. Still under the £15 we're being charged so generating credit. Neat little psychological trick actually, "yuss, only £12 again - if we keep this up it'll be another £90 saved this month."

We caved last night and whacked the thermostat up a couple of degrees, not worth risking the kids catching strep a or whatever

A month ago ours was £2 a day, with the heating permanently off. Then we put the thermostat to 16.5, and it was £4 a day. Went away for two weeks, it got cold, it’s now £6 a day for 16.5, just gas. Electric doesn’t show on the smart meter display because reasons.

I need to change the timer on the heating for this week. With it getting sub zero it’s definitely going on all night, just at about 16c or so.

Must admit, I'm feeling it now. I don't have any central heating, just some crap electrical wall things that are too expensive and a fuck off multifuel burner. But I'm having to light fires daily at the minute. Was fine the last 3 years. Maybe I'm getting older.

Accidentally set all the smart TRVs to 15 degrees last night. By 2:30pm it was 15 degrees, so I turned it back up to 18. Heating definitely needed!!!!

I had to buy a second heater for my fish tank. Temperature in the flat was dropping too much for it to keep up.
Then I put my smart plug on it tp test the draw and it has been running at 240w non stop! Plus my snake heater has been pretty much the same. So decided for the first time to turn heating on, keep the place at 17 to give everything else a bit of help.
Thank fuck I don't still have a marine aquarium. I reckon that would cost £120 a month minimum these days.

Snake heater? Couldn't you just put him in a long sock?
It's also a great MGS game.

How're those kWh going then? Thermostat set to 19 and it's been on virtually all morning. Which probably says more about the shit insulation in the house tbf.

There would be a revolution in this house at about 18 degrees which would likely see me sleeping in the garage.

Have mine set to 16 during the day and rarely hear the boiler kicking in. Crank it up a bit in the evenings though as the rest of the house gets much colder than my south facing office. Seems to be £5 as the bare minimum per day for gas.

Even 19 is causing issues with my wife. She is definitely meant for sunnier climes.
Edit: I should say that when it's just me here, it's set to 17. But my son is off ill, so didn't think I should have it that low...

I’m not allowed to use the thermostat during the day. Heating only on via timer first thing in the morning and in the evening. The Heating Stasi even keep tabs on it via her phone app.
It’s fucking freezing, so I just stay in my office, heating myself via body warmth and wind.

Crikey. Got doors and windows open or something?! It's just a big old Victorian house. Big rooms, 9 foot ceilings, wooden floors, also no radiator near the thermostat, it couldn't be any less energy efficient.

I've resorted to just heating my living room with a fire each night and fuck the rest of the house off.
Even a fully loaded fire every single night is still cheaper than turning any heating on.
I have absolutely no idea how people without any heat are staying alive. I was on a bit of a walk outside last night about 6pm, and I imagined what I'd do if I had no home, no friends, nothing, and was homeless. I deduced that I would probably be dead by day 3. Tops.

Our heating isn't really ever off, just have room by room thermostats. 21 during the day, 18 at night. I do not like it too cold, and wife is waaay worse.
It would definitely go to like 10 degrees if we didn't have heating on.

I got a generator from a neighbour last night (my one should arrive next week) so I got the temps in the caravan up to 8.4 degrees peak and the humidity down to 75% before the petrol ran out. Back down to 0.8 degrees and 89% in morning. More petrol experiments tonight.

Rooms at the front of the house aren't too bad with the sun coming through. At the back it's Baltic though.

Our timer is 2 hours morning, another 2 at night - 18 set
However, the thermometer hasn’t read higher than about 15 since we’ve stuck the timer on. I have an oil radiator for whatever room we are in and assume that’s cheaper than the central heating on for more.
I’m away for a few days now though and left the timer as below zero outside. That hurts as I figured it would be a good saving when I booked it.

Some thermostats should have a frost protection setting. I would've just whacked it on that.
Our energy bill for September is glorious as we were on holiday for two weeks and the power tripped on our first day away. Not so glorious when I remember all of the spoiled food from two fridge freezers...

Fuck this for a game of soldiers I’m having the heating on.
Normally I’d leave it, but Christina Hendricks has been complaining about my cold feet all morning. Settle down pickle, get back under the duvet!

Alright Rockefeller! Holidays?! Two fridge freezers?! Doesn't everyone have two fridge freezers? Or at least a fridge freezer and a separate freezer for long term storage?
