I don’t know - they just bring me stuff on a tray.

In our case we just got a free fridge from family that was a decent upgrade compared to the existing one, so just had two fridges running for a while until we pulled the finger out and sold the old one.
Bloody loved having two of them as I'm a bit of a meal prepper, but the house just isn't big enough for it long term.

MC Hammer had a fridge in every room of his house.

Also Vanilla Ice had a hammer in every room of his house.
Probably an anti Suge Knight defense system.

Big rooms, 9 foot ceilings, wooden floors, also no radiator near the thermostat, it couldn't be any less energy efficient. You could set up insulated tents inside your house and heat those instead of the whole house.

Thank fuck I insulated and got a heat pump fitted early this year. Set at 15deg and 18 in the evening. Same cost to run as my shonky storage heaters last year and my house is actually warm. Last year it was regularly down below 10deg...fuck that.

It took 2 litres of petrol but a double new weekly record. 15.7 degrees 59.9% humidity.
25 mins after shut off it's 11.5 degrees 70% humidity
Apart from the petrol use, pretty happy with that. Next step is to get the solar/battery thing going for some more dehumidification in the day time. And to use less petrol for heat.

I think it might work out cheaper* to go work at a table in the 'spoons.
*but a lot, lot worse.

I'm scared to submit my next meter readings. I've had the in-laws staying with us, so not only are we having to heat the house more during the day, but we've had to heat more rooms, and they like taking baths. The smart meter breached £30 one day, and I'm pretty sure that's not our current tariff either...

We've been hitting around £17 a day recently. I can't wait for the email from Shell telling me the DD is going up :/

Alright Rockefeller! Holidays?! Two fridge freezers?! Doesn't everyone have two fridge freezers? Or at least a fridge freezer and a separate freezer for long term storage? When I lived in a flat I had nothing but freezers everywhere. Didn’t need a bed, just sleep in a freezer!

Same, borrowing £5 credit from Saturday 7th October to cover today. Smart meter says already used £13 of Gas/Leccy and it's not even 5pm. Look after my 4 year old every Monday and noticed our open plan kitchen/lounge/diner was at 9 degrees about 2pm so had no choice but to go nuclear.

We've used more in the first 12 days of this month than all of last month... Credit is going to be taking an absolute hammering! Getting new bay windows put in this week which will hopefully help. Just need to find a chimney balloon that's not utterly rubbish now (or move forward the plan of getting a wood burner fitted)

Got my forecast for the next 12 months from EDF the other day. I WFH so electricity is 2/3 our bill, but we're good at turning off lights and devices and we barely use the gas heating (I'm wearing 5 layers at the moment). But when you're doing all you can, yet being told it could be £4k for a smallish 3 bed terrace, it really feels futile.

Just put in a meter reading for 17 days. £230 (£140 gas, £90 electric). Yikes.

Comparing to November not necessarily representative as it was one of the warmest Novembers like ever.
I am now wearing an extra thermal later inside, with temps inside about a degree lower than usual.
I can't imagine 9 degrees the ever..
