I might be selling an M Sport 3 series in a month or two for around 4.5k if you're still looking by then! I've enjoyed my short time with it but the urge to pickup an old Volvo is too strong. It's in good nick apart from a 2ish inch scratch near the driver's door, not long serviced and MOTd too and has around 107k on it. Nice one. I bought a TT off a guy on Eurogamer about 17-18 years ago so it would be good to follow on the tradition.

Should probably give it a good clean this weekend as it's about time I got some decent photos. Mines an '09 E92 325i coupe with the N53 engine.

I hear great things about Honda Jazz's. True. I got given the mother in law's old beaten-up one at the beginning of the year and it's been great. Surprisingly roomy. Also, people in shiny Range Rovers actually pay attention to a beaten-up old Jazz merging in turn.

It's probably sacrilege to tell a forum of Europeans, but if you want something reliable, cheap and with great milage, go Japanese. So yeah, Hondas and Toyotas are good calls.

Definitely not sacrilege. We love Japanese cars over here. I’ve had two Civics, a Honda Integra Type-R, two Subaru Imprezas and a Mazda All of them were brilliant cars

Considering an MG4 as my first electric car. Thought I'd get a bargain in my company's lease deal as I'd save tax on it but looks like it's still £340/month (for the top trim, cheapesat is £310) which seems a lot. And looks like no option to purchase at the end.
Anyone got an idea what I'd pay direct with a dealer?

Thanks, that's not so bad actually (albeit not fantastic) as although mine would be after tax benefits (salary sacrifice scheme) it also has zero deposit and includes insurance etc.

is it safe to auto renew car insurance now with the law change? or do I have to go through the annual faff of checking around again?
only ask as its gone up ~£50 to £233* which doesn't sound too bad tbh, but then the £50 raise seems a bit cheeky
* third party fire & theft, 17 year old beat-up CRV with two named drivers & a no claims bonus going back to the carboniferous period

It's up to you if you want the hassle of changing, I usually run it through the website checker things and find I might save £20 or something and then stay where I am as I can't be arsed with the hassle of changing for the sake of £20. Depends how much you can save doesn't it.

Yeah, it's always worth using a few comparison websites to check prices before yours auto-renews. At the very worst you can see if your existing insurers will match a cheaper quotation.

Dreaded MOT tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. Engine warning light has been on for, ooooh, 10 months now, so chances are it’s going to be a bad one!
Usually drive bangers I can be ok with scrapping after a year or two, but second hand prices are ludicrous these days. Not spunking 2 grand on a motor that might be just as shit as mine.

Immediate fail for the warning light, I'm afraid. Hopefully it's nothing serious. 🤞🏻

Yea, new MOT rules, if it's the engine management light it will fail.

Oh yeah I knew as much, figure it’s worth the 40 quid MOT cost to just to find out if there’s a major problem that makes scrapping the only option or something that can be fixed for a couple of hundred!

You won't find that out from an MOT.

Ouch Which reminds me I need two front tyres Cheap ones? Apparently they're 70 quid for two. Haven't had them done yet but they'll need doing soon. And no, I still haven't fixed the leak

Mine has an A1 service due - and it is needed, so it's not really "due but I can put it off for another few months" - which means lots more money. I hate paying for cars man.
