Song that plays over the opening scene of the new show I started watching, Apples Never Fall. Given the premise of the show, I wonder if the lyrics are giving something away.

Blockhead, because I love instrumental hip hop beats for working and he's one of the best to ever do it.

Saw Amtrac supporting DJ Shadow at the weekend, hadn't come across him before but I am now very much a fan!

The new Jesus and mary chain lp.
Should have been listening to it last week, but spotify 'hand-picked' new releases are shite and push ariana grande and beyonce instead of bands I actually follow ffs.

Think it's had a mixed reaction but I'm really enjoying the new Kim Gordon album

I quite like 'bye bye', it's got a droll chicks on speed 'eurotrash girl' vibe.
I'll have to give the album a go.

I just discovered there's an Italian version of Jesus Christ Superstar, so that's a fitting listen for Easter, I guess.
Seems actually quite good. Though, how would anyone hope to match Carl Anderson? Aside from that, it is good. I would like to go and see the show someday. I have a ticket for a showing of Les Miserables booked in November, but JCS is still my favorite overall.

Somewhere in the multiverse it was Broadrick not Mansell who went to Hollywood

This band were pretty patchy with their output but when they were on they were fucking on.

Fully agree with that. There are a handful of songs that were incredible even if overall they never quite fulfilled that promises. I don’t know of it helped them getting lumped in with the post-Libertines wave of NME bands when they clear had something different.
Lockdown session from my favourite Scottish genre-hopper
