Neil Young: Harvest. Excellent album (a man needs a maid is stunning) and release the same year of my birth...the album has aged better Stating the obvious here but it's a tough call choosing a favourite Neil Young album. I usually think it's Rust Never Sleeps. But every time I listen to Harvest it's just one of those magical experiences. Everything outside the music just melts away.

And right now I'm all about What Do We Do Now. I really love J. Mascis's solo stuff. This may be his best solo album.

I'll give that a go. Dinosaur Jnr were always something i felt I should like on paper, but bar a few songs, just never really did.

It's similar but softer...about as pastoral as J Mascis gets! If you don't like his vocals it won't win you over.

Phenomenal levels of cheese, but this makes me smile a lot.

One of the neighbours has popped over for a cuppa so I've put my headphones on so I can pretend I'm not here. The usual eclectic music mix. So far I've had Ghost, From Ashes to New, Electric Callboy, Motionless in White, Daughtry, Volbeat, In Flames, Battle Beast, Rhapsody of Fire, Parkway Drive and Amaranthe.

Listening to the full Gallagher/Squire album RN (yarr).
Both blokes in great form, particularly Squire, and except for the first song, Britpop it ain’t. In fact its ranges quite a lot through classic rock. The track I’ve got on now sounds like a Who’s Next off-cut and there’s loads of Hendrix and Faces type stuff too.
A great listen so far.

Having not really cared for them for possibly over a decade, I am very much into the new Kings of Leon single. Sounds like the band of old!

What a magnificently brilliant and silly band they were. My old housemate was convinced they’d be the next Pulp

The first three tracks from their debut LP are absolutely blistering - sadly the rest of their stuff never reached those heights for me.
My Little Brother resonates a fair bit - my older brother said I came back from Uni listening to a load of weird music. Always reminds me of him.

I really like that whole album but, yeah nothing comes close to those first three songs.

I'm having to commute to London this week and so far Maggie Rogers' album Surrender is seeing me through. I've recently discovered her and can't get enough of these 2 tracks in particular.
Horses - has the vocal quality of one of those stripped back acoustic versions that I really gravitate towards.
Shatter - much more upbeat, needs to be listened loud. The second half has a great progression to it, I love it when songs do that.
