Gutter Twins - Saturnalia
Just in case anyone ever wondered what an Afghan Whigs album with Lanegan singing would've been like. 😁

Beyond Belief on Radio 4. Not my cup of tea, but my daughter was on it today so I thought I better had.

Its a real shame these guys never fully graduated from niche underground concern to proper established cult status. They should mainstays of channels like ResonanceFM or even 6Music.

Been listening to heaps of All Them Witches lately. They're ostensibly a blues band but they tend to genre hop between metal, prog, folk and even some dark ambient stuff. Sometimes all within the same song:

it's a bit bombastic and overblown but I've not heard a better symphonic metal recounting of the theory of evolution.
(I unironically find this emotional)

Incidentally, if it's Nightwish you're after, Imaginaerum is free on the YouTubes.

C418. It's the music score from Minecraft. It's really really chilled out.

It’s not a new track, yet also never seems to get old for me. I still listen to PSB’s Race for Space album often and today is one of those days.

Man, I wish I could remember what it was called but this song always reminds me of a show I heard on radio 4 about how the mind is almost hardwired to be musical. Like you can hear pretty much anything and if it is repeated consistently, your brain will almost subconciously make a song out of it to the point that normal talking sounds like singing when looped properly.

I'm certainly not in the main fan demographic for Scene Queen but I think she's ace and I'm going to see her live in a couple of weeks time.

New song from newly announced Rattlesnakes album. Quite understated and introspective.

Bloody lovely this is. Unironically great driving music too. I appreciate the old Subaru Leggy on the album cover and the Volvo 240 in the music video aswell.

I only realised recently that Slaves decided to change their name (for good intentions) to SOFT PLAY, turns out a lot of fans were not happy and left a load of shitty comments on their post about it. I have a lot of love for this band, they've been consistently making good post-punk tunes for years.
So the guys decided to approach this with their usual humour, they took these comments and made a fucking banging tune out of them (look out for a surprise cameo too):

Ha! What's the betting that robbo comes along on their tour just to do that one song?
Who the fuck cares what they're called as long as they're back.

Nothing new, but have had Machine Head’s newest album basically glued into my car CD player for weeks. Finally swapped it out and went the other way and stuck Let It Be in. It’s always seemingly seen as a disappointing album but I think it’s lovely and really varied IMO.
Title track, Long and Winding Road and Across the Universe are three of their prettiest songs. I Me Mine is George’s most underrated tune I think. And Dig a Pony is an awesome slice of roots R&B with a brilliant guitar hook. Also love the facetious skits John Lennon does in the interludes. What an arsehole he was and so love him for it.
Brilliant album and not at all disappointing to me.

Respect for still using CDs! Have recently decided to get rid of all of mine, as I haven't had any means of playing them for many years now. Will just keep one or two for sentimental reasons.

I'm absolutely blaming Brexit for why Envy hasn't toured again in the UK.

Sadly, pretty much as relevant today as when it was made, if not moreso.
