I've had this Aussie classic in my head ever since a cover of it was featured on The Bear:

The 'new' Sonic Youth live album is absolutely brilliant.

The new Osees album is the first of theirs that I haven't bounced straight off. Kinda digging it. Could it finally get me into this band?

How the fuck the algorithm brought me to this via HEALTH is something I will be confused by for several minutes, but anyway:

Funny old band, every album is very different, can't really pigeonhole them. I like most of their stuff, and some of the songs on the new album are great, their previous album was a belter for me. The new one has been described as their "keyboard album" 😆

The thing I like about them is their obvious joy at just making a big noise.

Never really got into Osees (or however they're spelling it now!). I like a couple of John Dwyer's other bands (Pink and Brown/Coachwhips), but I think I've always been put off by the sheer scale of Osees' discography - they release a *lot* of music.

Olivia Rodrigo's new album guts. Had it on repeat for about two or more hours now. I love it and I don't often love albums immediately. Especially the first song "all American bitch".

New Green Lung single giving me kind of an earlyish Ghost vibe after all the Sabbath worship of their other stuff

After discovering the singer from the Gunship - monster in paradise, she is in this other band which is electronic rock (this track reminds of Prodigy's 3rd album) btw the video has flashing lights if you are affected by that. Also like their Fukstar song

To follow on from my last post in here; the new Chemical Brothers album is amazing! A proper cohesive album, like Further or Dig Your Own Hole. Play it from start to finish and turn up the bass. There’s some proper punchy riffs carrying some of these tracks.

I feel like I shouldn't be a big fan, but I really like her and her stuff. New album goes a bit Avril Lavigne at times, but just when you think it's gonna suck it switches gears into something else.

There isn't a bad song on there for me. Maybe a couple of weaker ones right at the end of the album but it's great. Still loving the opening track but also love making the bed and logical.
So is that just a link you can copy from Spotify? Nice.

For those who like Gunship, give The Midnight a little listen. Endless Summer and Monsters are probably their best albums . Very 80s synth wave.
I saw them this year at the Apollo and was surprised how good they were live .

There’s some proper punchy riffs carrying some of these tracks. I dont think they have ever put out a bad record but this is my favourite of theirs for quite a while. No obvious 'push the button' radio friendly unit shifter but I do think 'Live Again' is one of the best songs they have ever done.

I'm liking the new Chemical Brothers.
I actually really enjoyed No Geography and I'm not sure if I enjoy this quite as much yet, but it's very good and one of their better albums.

No Geography is excellent. One of my favourites, for sure. It does feel a little more like a singles collection though, with each track really standing out from those around it.
This new one is definitely more musically consistent throughout. I’m going to find it hard to not want to listen to it all in one go. It doesn’t help that the final track loops perfectly back into the album intro. And once that bleeds into Live Again it’s hard to stop. I’ve had a few ‘double’ listens of this album already on my days off.

Roisin Murphy: Hit Parade
Have to say on first couple of listens I am not convinced, doesn't really get started until track 7. I love all her work preceding this with Hairless Toys and Roisin Machine being 10/10 classic albums. This one and it hurts to say is a 6/10 at the moment, I am hoping it grows on me, it is reviewing excellently, so I am obviously missing something!
EDIT: Rather than delete my above thoughts and score. I will add this edit instead. After several more listens I have to say thankfully it has indeed grown on me with at least 4 stand out tracks, I still think side 2 is stronger than 1 but it is better than I had initially thought.
Revised score is 8/10

Haven't really listened to much dub for a while, but this upcoming album from old school dub masters Creation Rebel is sounding very promising, just very, very good. Love the synth line that floats over this at times.
