New Myrkur. Sounds like she's moved almost entirely away from black metal and into a shoegazey, even Enya-ish place. Which I don't mind but I do miss her banshee wails. Still a few touches of darkness though. Probably another album 'll have to buy this year.

YouTube music decided I needed more metalcore in my life so has put of lot of this sort of stuff on my auto playlist. It's not wrong, but I think I'm about 35 years too old for it and feel ever so slightly dirty.

Inspired by the "albums that changed your life" thread, looked up performances by The Damned. I love this. It's shambolic but the underlying melancholic melody is present and the fuck it attitude is just amazing. Dave Vanian had the mic taped to his hand because he was pissed and kept dropping it. Captain Sensible was my style icon in the early 2000s. Rat Scabies just looks like a disgruntled pub landlord.
I fucking love it.
