I just listened to this and holy shit you weren't kidding, wow. Drum and Bass remixes have a danger of sounding like "that track you like, but sped up" and I'm not sure it works for all of them, but that Mindfields remix in particular is awesome I think the Breathe one might be my favourite but I genuinely laughed like ‘holy shit!’ when I heard the Mindfields one because it is just too powerful. It makes you involuntarily do that punching dance.

Starting listening to Sprints last year, really like their energy, and so far their EPs and singles have been pretty good.
Newest single is especially earwormy for me.

The 100 Gecs album definitely one of my AotY so far. Bonkers fun. Fucking. Hell. I don't know what I've been listening to (other than a jumble of genres), but whatever it is it is indeed bonkers fun. Loving it! Hadn't heard of this band before, love getting gems like this recommended here - the forum delivers again!

Brian Fantana put me into them. His YouTube channel (The Needle Drop) is worth a look. I find he’s a pretty good taste maker.

He loves 100 gecs, for sure. And Death Grips. Speaking of Hyperpop, I have been listening to this a lot (check it out, sound of the summer and so on)
Its out on Ninja Tune and so many people are complaining about them losing their edge, not putting out real music anymore and all that shit. Its a fun little bop, not everything has to be Icct Hedral

Ah just checked out his channel (took a while as couldn't find the Paul Rudd Anchorman newsreader music channel, but kinda wish there was one now). Looks like a decent spread of reviews etc. a positive review of the new King Krule already makes me like him.

I'm in love with this song and it might be my favourite song of this year thus far, though I admit it wont be to many people's taste.

The Human League 1981: Dare, great album. The 80's odyssey continues this time with Flock of Seagulls ,first album from 1982. ...I fookin loved/love the 80's Ultravox: Vienna 1980. I did come late to this, maybe 20 years late! but love it.

What? Where were you when joe bleedin' dolce was keeping one of the best singles from number 1?
Is your 80's music knowledge all an act Duff?
I am disappoint.

Speaking of fellow Scots, The Crossing by BC what an album.

The new Hives album seems to have escaped into the wild a day early.

Re Hives, I enjoyed Your new fav band, bought off the back of Hate to say I told you so (still a killer track), unfortunately I thought the entire album very "samey" hence buying no more of their stuff

So far I think "Countdown To Shutdown" is definitely the strongest track on the album. "Smoke & Mirrors" is bordering on Ramones-core.

Going through everything from Blur* atm
Torn between Modern Life Is Rubbish and Blur as the best album. They all have their place/Moods, but as a dude that quite enjoys a concept album that gets weird, those two go pretty hard.
(*Nothing past 2004.So no Magic Flute or the latest. Big Blur fan, let's not argue about Alex James or Oasis**)
**They're fucking bland shit and always were 🖕. What's the Story? It's the emergence of Super Furry Animals in that year bitch

Not a fan of Blur, but I'm with you on the Super Furries. What a band!
