Queens of the Stone Age self-titled remaster with new artwork. Its a Frank Kozik cover so now the album looks like everything that Man’s Ruin Records released / every stoner band of the early 00s
I’ve loved this album since it originally came out so always glad to have a reminder how good it is.

This song has no right to be as hard as it is.

I've a hankering for Nick Cave recently, and giving Skeleton Tree a few listens. I might try that Ghosteen album afterwards. I've not got that - anyone else have any comments on it?

Both albums got rave reviews and I own both but Skeleton Tree towers over it for me.
It's sombre, long and incredibly (and understandingly) melancholy; just didn't hit me the same way as Skeleton Tree did.

In a maudlin mood, so a bit of Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan is fitting the bill perfectly with a last drop of red.

Devin Townsend has released a second single from the upcoming album.
I liked SYL back in the day but got MAJORLY into the solo/Project/Band stuff on the run up to and during the bad years of Covid. To the point of being infatuated with it all a bit and buying all these mega expensive box sets. But for some reason it just isn't resonating with me now at all and I'm finding myself a bit 'wise' to his tropes here. I think I fell off during the Puzzle/Snuggles cycle which I thought saw him go firmly up his own backside.
It feels a bit like an even more lightweight 'Sky Blue' so far.

The new Pixies album Doggerel is the best of the recent stuff, almost classic Pixies vibes for me. I've liked the last three new albums, but this one just works a lot better, feels like they've redicovered their groove.

Love the slide work on that
I’m back on the latest Pictish Trail album today. The whole thing is like a bit of a mad collage with each track sounding like its been chopped together from a couple of others but it totally works for me. Probably my album of the year so far.

Lots and lots of King Gizzard, including their new album, which is a jammy, jazzy, funky thing indeed:
