Starting to really spend some proper time with the new Cave In album. Parts of it remind me of Alice in Chains, parts of Converge, parts of Mastodon and the whole thing touches on nearly every era of Cave In sound too.
I don’t think anyone would have held it against them if Caleb’s death was the end of the band but this album sounds crazy fresh and has some genuinely brilliant stuff on it.

They should play this Wannadies song on the radio instead of the other one all the time. Or this one

Hot take: The Wall isn’t even the best Pink Floyd album.
Hotter take: it’s not even in my top three

New Wilco album, quite different, a bit country-ish, not sure what to make of it yet.

Leonard Cohen Live in Dublin.
I saw him a few times on this tour and it was mostly great. I wish he’d sang more and perhaps the sisters a bit less, but then I remember that he was 80 years old and it was lucky to be seeing him at all.
Truly, one of the greats. I like to play his songs in times of conflict. Like little, cool pools of tranquility. Come Healing especially.

Trying out some Japanese Hip Hop that was recommended to me. Not really my kind of thing, but one needs to broaden ones horizons. Awich is big apparently, though I think the guy in the cap seems better. (Jp the Wavy) More pop/dance style, but I at least agree with the sentiments in this one. [nsfw lyrics] Entire life story Her daughter seems to pop up in a lot of the videos too. Still not really my thing, but interesting to get some j-music that isn't cringeworthy kawaii j-pop or idol groups. I really should investigate more.

Feel free to tag me in any of your findings, Bill. I've never been much of a fan of the standard jpop/jrock stuff, but I've always liked the idea of discovering more interesting musical acts from around the world.
On that note

Hadn't realised Sharon Van Eton's new album came out the other week. She's so fucking good.. I haven't been able to get into her last two albums, and this one in particular is just so fucking moody, you have to be in a very specific place to even think about putting it on. I've tried listening to it about 3 times now.
