I’ve not watched it for a long time after being a big fan earlier - probably watched the first 10 series maybe but nothing since. I used to take joy watching these arrogant twerps get taken down a peg or two. However it got to the point where they got people that were so deluded that when they were exposed as inept frauds it had no impact on them at all
I’ve heard that this series in particular has been complete chaos though, for those that are watching - has it been even worse than usual?

I do feel like they've been particularly incompetent this year, yeah. Which has been pretty funny, to be fair. But long gone is any presence that these are serious business people.

There's always one or two that are viable ones, the rest are just fodder.

I know he probably doesn’t care because its just a job but when Tim won the first series it seemed to actually be about being good at business with some fairly seriously minded people on it. So I wonder what he thinks seeing these clowns being set up to fail every week and coming out with insane delusional justifications for their clearly mental and terrible ideas.

I miss the 'old' Apprentice with actual decent candidates and actual stakes.
Like Lukus says - the monopoly money investing is ludicrous.
It's a real cringe watch now unfortunately.

Fair point - at the time it was hard to tell how cretinous they would turn out. Well, maybe not with Hopkins.
What I meant to say is that the show felt more structured, less scripted and felt like it actually had some quality candidates and business people on there instead of the least-worst candidate winning by process of elimination.

I was quite surprised at the start of last weeks shopping scavenger hunt mission that one of them asked if anyone could read a map. Its the first evidence I think they’ve left in the show where someone appears to have actually watched a previous series and learned a lesson about a mistake they could avoid.
I do still think they should let the designers and techies who have to bring their horrible creations to life speak on camera. Or at least pull Tim from the Office reaction faces to the audience.
Although to be fair, I regularly have emails that take longer to draft than they’re given to invent an entire suite of market ready original products. I’m sure most people would come out with something an 8yr old designed with that limitation.

Edit: They're going to have to start calling him Teflon.

Is there a more desperate task than the shopping channel challenge?
This is agony.

I love how their technique is basically badgering the viewer into buying rather than trying to explain why the product might be useful.

Noisy Irish woman sounds like she’s flogging fish in the middle of Billingsgate market.

Just watched ep 8, the utterly atrocious advert for the electric van. Anyways, filmed in Gods Own Junkyard which is a 1 minute walk from where we live. Just saying ✌️

I don’t think she was in real danger tonight but you can tell they’ve got Flo marked as the star candidate. Just the way Karen, Tim and Sugar talk about her and deflect the mistakes she has made.
Maura and Raj have been liabilities for awhile now but I honestly thought we might get a triple at one point.

Yeah, I think Flo’s the chosen one, but she’s acquitted herself very well over the series. Will be interesting to see if she bounces back with vegan cheese next week

Whenever you see them having to prepare anything she always seems like the only one who is actually paying attention to the industry people and actually preparing something. Its really weird seeing someone do that on the modern version of the show.

Yep, at this stage in the series they make sure that each team is a mixture of chosen ones and canon fodder, so that if a surprise task failure happens, there’s always someone who is bootable.

It's week ten, and the candidates are tasked with creating and branding a new vegan alternative to cheese
What could possibly go wrong?

Someone is absolutely going to get confused that eggs or something aren’t vegan.
Does the pie shop guy win or get dumped?
