Anyone got a decent hangover cure, other than don't drink in the first place? Probably a bit late for you now, but, water, cold draught cola, food (a combination of grease, stodge and something salad-like), ice lollies, wank, weed then shower. Then painkillers if the headache lingers. If the nausea is all-encompassing then you're fucked. |

A few paracetamol, beers and nduja pizza at the pub sorted it. Will have a spliff later and it's like I never even had a hangover.

I feel very much the same, same shit different year. In the past we have had a curry delivered but not bothering this year.

We had a nice meal and a bottle of wine but are now in bed a little after 9pm. Haven't seen midnight on a New Year's Eve for years. We'll probably be woken up by fireworks, have a quick look out the window then go back to bed.
New Year's resolution for me is the same as last year, to try to get back into running without injuring myself. This past year has been a shin splint disaster so I'll have to be a lot more careful this time.
Hope you all have a good 2023.

I've got the kids tonight, so NYE will be spent playing Spider-Man and drinking good wine, and missing me bird.
Despite some turbulence (may I direct you to the Match.com and Online Dating thread), 2022 has been pretty fucking great. Had a successful reverse vasectomy, converted to Islam, continued to drink and eat pig, grew a beard, got engaged, went on two great holidays, finished my MBA and sold my flat. I'm the best I've ever been at work, I've become a good cook and I've really connected with my kids in a new way, and I'm in a very loving relationship in which I feel really valued for the first time in my life.
I'm still prone to bouts of depression and anxiety, and I sometimes feel I'm on the brink of total collapse - but I really shouldn't and that's something I need to get a grip of. The age-old problem of needing self-confidence but being riddled with doubt and insecurity.
Lots to look forward to next year - including spending an inordinate amount of virtual time with you cunts, who I'm very happy to call buddies.

Drinks and food around a friends. Back to our house early because the husband is in call. Me and my wife have some good champagne to drink. Still have a mountain of cheese to get through as well.
She won rock paper scissors for the lie in tomorrow, so I'll try and restrain myself(I won't and I'll be feeling rough tomorrow).
Hope to see some cheerier new years resolutions from some of you miserable bastards.

Just called off a trip over to some friends. I've been battling with an ear infection that has had me wanting to hammer a 6 inch nail down my ear canal for the last few days so I don't think I'm great company at the moment. Just about got through a cinema/restaurant birthday trip yesterday but was in bed by 9 with another banging headache.
Still, our 16 yr old has already made plans to host around 8 friends here and make it a sleepover means it was probably for the best. Ought to be on hand I suppose.
We'll be holed up out of the way with some snacks and drinks, listening to the chaos downstairs.
Who knows, with any luck, I may be 'forced' to update my ageing TV by the morning.

Been invited to a lively bash but given I'm just over COVID I can't really be bothered. Plus going to the Brighton match at the hugely inconvenient time of 5.30 means we are actively trying to get pissed early doors - meal out at half one, footy, maybe stop at the pub on the way home to be dozing on the sofa by 10.
