Happy New year everyone, another roller-coaster of a year, but one of the ups was fontgeek rising from the ashes of the old EG forum. I never bother with EG anymore, the forum was the best part, may it long continue! And long after EG has crumbled to dust with their frankly odd business model. Happy NY all!
We all did a camp out in the lounge room last night, I reckon London won the fireworks.
Last thing I recall was seeing 3am and watching a Waifs concert on youtube.
Feel pretty good all things considered, a targeted nap this arvo may be called for though.

I had a mere two glasses of champers, and didn't even finish my bourbon cocktail. I am seriously not a drinker these days. Felt pretty rough when the girl woke at 6 something, and still now a little still.

I have a headache. From past experience the headache will not go away until about 9-10pm at best.
Fortunately my dad has a good supply of co-codamol, so that should ease the pain.

I was very moderate given my hangover yesterday. A glass of Bailey's, a couple of gins and a glass of wine with dinner. Done by 8/9. Whilst I am going to take a break from booze, I'll start that after tomorrow.

I’ve got way too much Xmas booze to stop drinking now! It’ll have to wait. Pretty sure wine and rum go off really quickly, so obviously it can’t keep.

Two ibuprofen and two paracetamol at same time followed by 2 pints of water then keep sipping water for the next few hours

Co-codamol and ibuprofen.
I find migraleve good fit hangovers as it contains anti nausea stuff in the pink ones.
Probably not advisable to always use those codeine containing things, but if it's just now and then it's a great way to get rid of bad hangovers
Speaking personally, I also find a tea with sugar helps. And as drinking usually leaves me with some sinus congestion I find having something very spicy can help.

It's the headache that's getting me bad, feel alright otherwise. So Youthists advice is pretty spot on.
Off to the pub at 2.30 for dinner with the family so hair of the dog will ruin any good work I do.
They do wood fire pizza so that should help.

Pint of berocca and a pint of dioralyte and then back to bed for a couple of hours normally does the trick for me (plus a pint or two of water before bed)

Fuck all shifts by hangover headaches other than time and usually 8 paracetamol for me (can't take ibuprofen). Yesterday's hangover was mostly nausea, which mostly passed with a sausage sandwich and then a few drinks in the evening.

It was good to start this year by repeating the 4am sleep time I've had for the past 3 days. Here's hoping that gets better.

Losing the EG forum ended up being good I guess, I had been a lapsed poster over the past few years but am enjoying being more frequent here!
As for NY, the wife and I had a few gins and built the Lego Bonsai set, then had an impromptu video call with some friends and saw in the new year together. Pretty damn good way to end the year really.
The kid also didn't wake until 8, so she's in the good books today.

Woke up at noon dabs hangover. I guess 2022 is easing me in gently. Or I suffered enough from the spectacular headache I had before I fell asleep. Beer, wine, champagne, hard seltzer and lemencello that was made with 190 proof Everclear. Feel remarkably fine right now, lying in a nice hot bath before returning to bed to listen to TV and build Lego
When I get out of t’bath I’ll post a video of the fireworks. Best I’ve ever seen in my life. Not the display - was all folks letting off their own - but because living on side of a ridge overlooking the city, which was blanketed by ribbons of fog
