Happy New Year to each and every one of you!
May 2023 be a better year than 2022, a fairly low bar but one I hope we meet nevertheless.
For me personally, 2022 was definitely a bad year overall, one in which I really let myself go and I'm really not proud of how it feels like I've given up on myself so hopefully 2023 is the year where I manage to do better.

First drink of 2023: Max Strength Lemsip 😕
Mine was a glass of water, used to wash down a couple of Day Nurse capsules that expired in July 2020.
Hopefully in a few weeks' time, we'll look back on this and feel like total badasses for starting 2023 with pharmacy-strength drugs  |

Not much like the satisfaction anc pleasure of a cuppa that turns out just right I "do" firsts of each year also, I keep a diary so...anyway: First Music: Pink Floyd First Game: Gears 5 multiplayer, mvp no less! First Drink: cup-o-tea, you can't wack it. First Food: Bacon sarnie (cooked by missus) and brown sauce, always brown sauce. First tv: will be Happy Valley series 3 tonight, I have been waiting years for this. |

Played golf today for the first time in a while - well first time since my dickhead brother got us kicked out of the old club. He’s not been well since that night out I cried off from, coughing up copious amounts of blood amongst other ailments, so it was good to see him feeling slightly better
Played the course right near my house but it was a proper bog out there, felt like I’d signed up for an army assault course it was that bad
Hopefully lots of golf in 2023 but I’ll have to find a new club to join first

freddiemercurystwin Oh yeah he was seriously ill. He ended up going to A&E but they let him go home after 10 hours and some checks 2 courses of antibiotics later and he’s starting to recover now When I saw him on Boxing Day he seemed like he was still in shock, he said he really thought he was going to die and he’s going to change his lifestyle and his outlook on life in general

My missus and I have had a lurgy all holiday.
Our lad had a cold for about a month and finally passed it to us just as tge hols started. Still barking away, but the sinusitis and lung gunk does seem to be easing.
Totally wasted two weeks of holidays on this.
I should ask for a rebate for sick leave! 🤔😜

Ha! Definitely at my place, if you have booked leave and are then properly ill, you can change it to sick leave. Not many do though, given sick leave policies etc these days though!

So I didn't come up on the pools (that is all we had back in the day!) /lotto win, so I am back at work. On the plus side I plan on retiring at 60 (possibly 62 but NO later) so only 10* more years to go! *but of course I will be 10 years nearer the grim reapers clutches...oh yeah Happy New Year everyone. Dougs morning mate, do we dare dream of the Prem ? I had us top 6 this season, so all gravy at the moment, but worse if we don't do it now I suppose. |

My first activity in 2024 was going to be a trip to the shops to get some bacon for a sandwich. Somehow that's turned into a massive hike up the hill.
