That video which came out [recently?] taken from a Navy ship was certainly interesting: their IR cameras detected something hovering above the water. After tracking it for some time, it just disappears. Doesn't necessarily mean it's aliens, but it certainly isn't the Russians.

He's still leading the race for the Republican nomination by a country mile, and none of the convictions are likely to be resolved by the time the election comes around.

The problem lies with AG Garland, who refused to touch Trump and his cronies for over a year in a misguided attempt to appear non-partisan after four years of Trump brazenly using the DOJ to try and take down his political enemies (there absolutely was a weaponization of the government, just not in the way Republicans would have you believe). It took the January 6th hearings and the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago to finally make Garland say "herp derp maybe we should do something about this guy".

Ehhh, it's not like federal prosecutions are normally speedy affairs. To me it's more likely that it just took them that long to gather all the evidence and go through all the hoops and such.

How are they going to summon a Jury? Politics seems to be so bi-partisan there that it’s would seem impossible to remove yourself from the case and your feelings towards it.
In a normal world everyone would see the clear intent in trying to overthrow the election result but this isn’t a normal world.

The vast majority of people aren’t that weird, but seeing it through a lens of right wing tweets and Jordan Klepper TikToks gives a distorted view. Most of the people I know here are staunch R’s who really want Trump to go away. Yeah, there’s a couple of true MAGAs I’ve run into here and there, but it’s by far the exception.
