I get why people say "Oh he wouldn't do this" with regards to tariffs and the environment cause it seems too cruel. But at the same time, what makes you think he wouldn't? We said it about the Muslim ban before he did it. Said it about dwindling NATO support and he still did it.

Last time they spent most of first year in chaos because they didn’t know how the place worked and couldn’t appoint or retain people in lots of key positions. This time they’re coming in forearmed and with a team of people who’ve been planning this for years.
He’s got the senate, congress and scotus in his pocket too.
I expect he’ll hit the ground running.

But if you've not actually had time to even pass a budget or only just did it. You're by definition living with the economy you inherited. |

I wonder how many of the people who voted for Trump understand that when he talks about "deporting illegals" he's using it as code for "anyone foreign born /looks foreign born and has dark skin". This is the guy who spent ages claiming Obama was actually an illegal Kenyan immigrant, if he'd do it about Obama he'd do it about anyone.
I reckon it's 50/50 people who understand and voted for him for specifically that reason, and people who don't.

Well, I suppose you have to make peace with the fact this is what America wants and is totally fine with everything that comes with a Trump presidency as long as there is the percived idea that things are getting better for them individually and not for the nation as a whole. I'm not saying it's wrong but this is what it is. People have no qualms with a convicted felon and rapist and comitter of treason because they promised to make petrol cheaper.

Well I mean if you watch the Daily Show bits on Youtube supporters were very upfront in saying if Dems wins it's rigged and if Trump wins it's obviously legitimate. You can't and could never reason with that and trying to call them out is just a fool's errand. I don't think the country can ever go back to where liberal democratic norms are respected and where the richest man in the world is seen as a hero fighting for the common man and anti-system. If you've ever read any Marvel 2099 stuff I'd say the county is well on its way there.
