Smart play would be to have a primary and dominate the news cycles

Bernie Sanders on the ticket as VP would be rather lovely.
I have no idea what to make of this though. Middle East and Europe are going to be defined for generations by this next Presidency, not to mention the survival of US democracy.
Although the US is in trouble anyway. The problem with Project 2025 of course is that it isn’t a single shot. Doesn’t work for Trump? Repackage as Project 2029, it only has to work once.

They really need to get the Supreme Court back to sanity. Nothing more damaging that Trump did than appoint his two picks. They’ve done the dirty work since even after he left office.

So Biden is a basement dweller (so says Trump) too? He's one of us!

That’s going to have to wait for Democrats to sweep the board and totally reform the Supreme Court, bumping it up to 11 etc

Unless the ticket is Oprah and The Rock they might as well start working on a push in the midterms now

I think it’s the correct decision, but there’s a nasty undercurrent that an older man can’t govern and I think he could. He’s an experienced, decent man. Unfortunately when age does come for you, it's a slippery slope. He was already displaying major changes from the State of the Union address back in March, there's a good chance he'd be a shell of his former self even by early voting, let alone election day or inauguration day... Hell, even the other guy was majorly low energy in his RNC acceptance speech, the one day when he would absolutely be hopped up on his drug cocktail... And somehow I doubt the shooting that he stood up and fistbumped not five minutes after rattled him that much...

Brand clearly believes in something, it just happens to be A-Level students politics of: the system is corrupt! smash the system! Something, something something. No follow up questions. I think he used to until all the sexual assault allegations came to the fore he got wind of it before they came out and then went full grift mode to continue the adoration which he craves and obviously the money. Ok overtaken by events but I wandered off for dinner mid typing. Disagree. Even when he was "left" his answer to everything was don't vote... "Fuck the system." Not vote green. Not join some voting reform society. Not anything practical or achievable. Just switch off and leave society basically. Guy's always been a brain-dead cunt.

Anyone know what potential platform Harris would run on? Democrat ones usually all sound the same, plus the main vibe of most US elections is avoiding some mad Republican fucker getting in. Rather than policy.

How would you define his current venture because there is clearly something going on that did not exist in his Trews incarnation. I don't think he's brain dead, he's admittedly narcissistic as well as being easily led and mistaking verboseness for intelligence but I do remember that sudden shift that he made that felt calculated.

Rather than policy. I guess on her and Joe’s record. Which is credible and actually pretty good. And I guess Woman’s rights and abortion. Look forward to seeing Trump mansplaining that to her. Another aspect will be her as a prosecutor and him being a felon. Feel sorry for Joe. But the right decision in the end. Think she has the ability to energise her party but also sway undecided voters and even moderate Republicans.

About time that Joe stood down. I liked him and up until the debate debacle I felt they could turn the narrative around by November, as well as a bunch of people running back to Dems once they really thought about what a second term Trump presidency would actually mean. But, once the debate happened there was no coming back and, as has been proven in the past couple of weeks, the media would be jumping on every small (and large) slip up, even though he was making those slips even when he was young man.
Honestly, him stepping aside completely and giving Harris a few months to actually do the job ahead of the election might not be a terrible thing, but I can't see it happening. Polling between Harris and Trump is tight, but they have enough time now to really put together a big splash for her at the conference next month and hopefully we will see that tighten even more and maybe have her taking to lead.

Harris kinda has to be on the ticket somewhere at this point. Even aside from the "can they use current donations if she isn't" issue, assuming there's no snap primary (no time and who's to say whether anyone would challenge her or not) she's the most "democratic" option, having already been elected. Anyone else and you start hearing "installed candidate" and "where's the will of the people" crowing (it's still happening now, but to a lesser extent)
Not to mention, passing her over will attract both even more snide remarks about her being a "DEI hire" in 2020 and anger about yet another white man (or woman) being favoured over her... And when politics is a reality show and the other party has the "Always Max Approval" cheat code turned on, that's not the kind of image you want to project...
I don't think she has to be the POTUS candidate, mind. Having her as the VP pick should still nullify both the donation and (mostly) the pass-over issue while allowing someone more popular to run... But does anyone want to be the face instead, right now?
