I can see the crazies of the Republicans calling for Joe Biden's arrest - which will happen should Trump get into office. trump was already dribbling and rambling this sort of thing before this over the years
I do think Trump is going to use this as his Reichstag moment to crack down on other voices if fucking idiots vote for him and the other fucking idiots don't vote for Biden (I was against Biden carrying on but now Democrats need to join together and vote and no spoil the ballot paper)
Don't be surprised if the USA turns into the handmaid's tale due to Project 2025 with trump in the whitehouse. Glad I don't live in America anymore
Glad I'm an ocean away but it's only short-lived relief when your neighbour sets fire to their house that you're not in it...

He calculated the shot based on Tunps claim that he is 6'3. If he had googled and based it on his actual height of 5"11 it would have been a successful throat shot.

I’m pretty terrified right now to be honest. I’m seeing a chain of events that leads nowhere but to Ukraine being a stepping stone into Western Europe now.

In a sane world all USA parties and politicians would denounce the assassination attempt and use it as grounds for a major and permanent change to USA gun laws to deliver far more stringent gun controls. But the USA is crazier than a box of frogs so highly unlikely sadly! Heh, reminded me there was some mass shooting early on during Trump's presidency and his suggestion for gun law reform was something like "take away the guns first, due process later". Of course that cost him no support whatsoever with the 2nd amendment-bothereres.

this does feel like one of those moments which will spark something quite terrible. depressingly pessimistic predictions: Biden will be the last ever Democrat elected president. Trump obviously wins this year. And every subsequent year till he hands the monarchy to one of his kids. Zelensky will be handed to Putin on a plate. Our kids get conscripted into world war 3. Calm down. The election result isn't going to change because of this, everything else you said was going to happen with a Trump win anyway 😝

I’m pretty terrified right now to be honest. I’m seeing a chain of events that leads nowhere but to Ukraine being a stepping stone into Western Europe now. Russia doesn't stand a chance of taking on all of Europe, even if the US kills NATO and Ukraine falls. They haven't made significant progress against a much smaller and weaker Ukraine - Europe outnumbers them, outguns them, dwarfs their economy and industry. Unless you think Putin and Trump are going to actually team up and both invade us, it's not going to happen.
I'm not saying "thisisfine.jpg". Ukraine falling would be terrible and there is risk of conflict. There's definitely going to be instability. I'm also deeply fucking worried about declining democracy and Europe fracturing in the longer term, what with all the fascism going on, and other disasters of our own making. But if Russia tries to invade Poland in 2027 or something they're going to get smeared.

Ukraine has held on due to weapons from Europe and mostly USA, without them it would of been lost. Putin may not attack europe but they will go for other countries that are not part of NATO. Also the way things are going trump teaming up with putin is not that far fetched as putin controls trump like orange puppet

skalpaddaI’m well aware of the Russian military shortcomings. But I think people underestimate to what extent Ukraine’s resilience has been propped up by ‘western’ weapons and cash. Trump will immediately withdraw that. That may embolden any European states on the fence either from a financial standpoint, a political one, or even a maintaining their own inventories stance. I don’t for a minute think Russia would roll through Ukraine and keep going either. I think they’d have a shit ton of natural resources from their conquest and I think they would have a period of rebuilding, probably bolstered by Trump lifting any US trade embargoes, releasing assets, blah blah blah. Their capacity for mischief with regards energy and gas supplies into Europe presumably increases with a fully compliant Ukraine too. I think ultimately Russia wants its USSR territories back. And with Trump always blathering on about NATO withdrawal that puts the likes of Poland and Finland in a very tough spot. Sorry if I’m using a lot of imagination and worst case shit. I grew up learning about McCarthyism and all that bad stuff, which was absolutely terrible, but I can’t get my head around how a country goes from a seemingly ingrained ‘reds under the bed’ mindset to a former and presumably future president and his followers seemingly openly supporting Russia.

FFS, Laura on BBC wheeling out Farage to blame it all on the liberal narrative. Not only that, but of course failing to challenge him on anything despite the shooter apparently being a registered republican and questioning him on his own rhetoric. Both pieces of shit.

And support for Ukraine has been embarrassingly tepid. Ukraine has still been outnumbered and outgunned the whole time, while an attack on Europe would be completely the reverse.

Well, putin needs the other countries that were former SU bloc and not in NATO and thats the first stepping stone. Thankfully putin can't take Poland yet despite all his threats
Ukraine should of got better support from the start, some countries only wanted to give non lethal support as they didn't want to upset russia. Also republican scum delayed weapon aid which Ukraine really needed when they were running out of ammo, no doubt putin told them to do it

I've got to stop picking at the psychic scab that is doomscrolling on Twitter but of the various trends emerging from the cult members that post above illustrates two big ones a) the annointing of Barron as the heir and successor to the MAGA kingdom continues apace b) the subtle insinuations just baked into the prose these twats use: what they did to his father. It's already some deep-state bullshit by default.
