There's a new valve approved fan made prequel to portal 2 releasing on steam for free on 5th January. It requires you to own the original Portal 2 game but frankly, anyone who hasn't got that already shouldn't own a computer. Contains original characters and fully voiced by a team of 8. Info and trailer here - store.steampowered.com/app/601360/Portal_Revolution/

I stupidly spunked money away on Fanatical's VIP bundle and Birthday bundle and just have a load of crap on my steam account now.

Grabbed Dredge, Sexy Brutale, Laika: Aged through blood and Cultic from my wishlist. Cultic isn't on sale, but it's cheap anyway.

VIP bundle I got Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Iron Lung and Epistory - Typing Chronicles. So 2 good games and one that'll be impossible to play on the Steam Deck. Birthday bundle I got Breathedge, Wolfenstein 3D, Orbital Bullet, Strikey Sisters, Just Die Already, Animal Rescuer, S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster, and even more that I can't be bothered to type out.

I just wasted £10 on the Birthday bundle as I got a fair few games I have no intention of playing, which are some that you mentioned

At least Wolfenstein 3D made me laugh.

I can't decide between Skyrim, Witcher 3 and Dark Souls.
I know everyone will say Witcher 3 is the better open world game, but for some reason Skyrim sounds more appealing. Maybe I just like my open worlds in first person. Dark Souls seems like it should be experienced, but I'm not sure if I'll actually like it.

I know everyone will say Witcher 3 is the better open world game I won't, I think Skyrim is a lot better. Unless you're looking for exciting stories and characters, that is.

Picked up Black Mesa only because I played a bit of the Anniversary edition and heard that Black Mesa tweaks some of the idiosyncrasies of the OG game.

I won't, I think Skyrim is a lot better. Unless you're looking for exciting stories and characters, that is. Not really. I feel like those will get in the way of me mucking about. In that case, Skyrim. I find Bethesda games really boring because of their lack of an interesting story and incredibly dull characters, but The Witcher 3 doesn't really let you muck about much. It is quite a directed experience in many ways and the gameplay doesn't really leave much room for experimentation. Plenty of world to explore and there is lots of enjoyable stories, but you aren't given much freedom within that. The correct answer of the three choices though is Dark Souls.

Seconded. For fucking about and doing whatever you feel like on a huge playground, Skyrim is your game. And if you don't want interesting characters, trust me Skyrim has you covered.

It's basically an interactive pop music album/video. Nothing too challenging and just a nice vibe.
Nice and short too, given its album length.

Half-Life, the first Gen X shooter (boomer shooters ending roundly with Quake 2) is 25 years old as of a couple of days ago and Valve have a documentary. Bless up.

Stop suggesting games!
Just added Sayonara wild hearts and cult of the lamb. That little steam deck verified tick seems to be all I need to forget about my neverending backlog.
Cat maze seemed good from the little bit I played of that. I might have to give that another go as well.

So I really liked Resi 8, only one I’ve finished, would you guys recommend the DLC, Resi 7 or the 4 remake?

Not Steam specifically, but the 2023 JingleJam charity bundle is live. jinglejam.tiltify.com/I think it's 80 games for 35 quid (or more if you like) There's nothing that particularly stands out to me (that I don't already have), but I guess the main point is charity and xmas. (Note you have to claim games by Dec31!)

I somehow have about 8 assassin's creed games without ever buying one (i think) hand having only played AC2 slightly and been rather disappointed with it.
I think it's because Ubi keep giving them away.

Was kind of tempted to get the complete set, assuming I had a few already on Steam and it would be about £50 for the rest of them, but seems I don't actually own any of them on Steam.
Definitely have the Ezio trilogy, 3 and Origins, but weirdly must have got them from other stores.
