It's really worth the money, one of my favourite games. Did almost 1k hours now on steam, probably did the same presteam.

I don't mean to go on about it but Stephen's Sausage Roll is 80% off.

For the last 5 years, every game on my wishlist has been discounted to the same price in every single sale, so I no longer get that excited about Steam Sales. Plus almost every game is available cheaper elsewhere - as a steam key - I don't know quite how that works.
It's a shame as I have a few steam points I should probably use on something.

ETA OK, I've managed 2 levels so far. It doesn't ease you in, does it?

Yeah, similar story for me for the most part. There's a bunch of titles which are apparently never going to drop below 9,99. Still, this time I bought:
- Journey - Gris
and
- Manifold Garden

I'm torn between getting either Cyberpunk 2077 or Red Dead Redemption 2. Is Cyberpunk still broken and how does Red Dead fare with someone who has always been underwhelmed by Rockstar's other output?
Actually getting them on Epic, but there isn't a general sales thread. Cyberpunk is about £14 and Red is about £17, after the £10 voucher.

I picked up Cyberpunk from the Epic sale, and so far I am completely loving it. Just started Act 2, had no technical problems or bugs of significance, and the whole look of the thing is great. World building and visuals are terrific, inventory/crafting is a pain, but it keeps me coming back for more. In other news, RDR2 is also great. Sorry, not much help!

Cyberpunk isn't totally broken anymore. Still a few glitches here and there but nothing major on PC. I'm still playing it and enjoying it. It's a pretty good narrative game, with some excellent missions, but a fairly average to poor open-world game (very simplistic NPC AI) which is what annoys some people. There's not much in the way of emergent gameplay.
RDR is an absolutely amazing open-world game with a brilliant narrative. You'd have to be more specific as to what annoys you about Rockstar games for me to be able to comment on whether you'd have issues with it. The only negative from my perspective were the somewhat confusing controls on PS4 Pro.
They are both good experiences IMO but not at all similar.
Cyberpunk is the same price via cdkeys (GOG version) if you only get one Epic voucher code (not sure how the sale works)? It's also discounted more frequently in general.

Good story, characters, art and music in Cyberpunk. No real world world activities besides bounties, short "origins" intro missions, kind of poor shooting mechanics and completely useless stealth mechanics are the some of the downsides. It's not as complete or full of a game as The Witcher series, and that's not comparing it to the completely updated Enhanced/GOTY editions, but those games at launch. But the story does go in interesting places. I really enjoyed it. It kept me glued from beginning to end, but it was still pretty flawed.
RDR2 on the other hand, I'm almost certain is the better designed game in every way, but I dropped past the intro section because it just seemed too big. Not because the intro was slow, but because the open world just looked like something that required a lot of investment.

RDR2 is big. You won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. To some degree that's what scared me off a little, feeling overwhelmed at the scale of it all and how much of my attention it would need. Incredibly immersive experience though.

Thanks for the comments. Decided to go for Red Dead. I'll continue to hold off on Cyberpunk until they do an inevitable enhanced edition or the DLC starts to come out.

Chris on Crate & Crowbar really rated the narrative in Cyberpunk, and the game experience overall, but he did say that he got a much more enjoyable experience with a lot less bugs once he upgraded to a much more powerful PC.

The 2022 Budget went live today, so picked up a couple of things on the Epic Store:
Darkest Dungeon 2 - makes sense to get this now with the coupon
Black Book - this is the Eastern European Folklore/RPG/Card Battler which has had some good things written about it. Mostly that people liked the folklore elements, which is a minor red flag, but hey Sable - this looks like prime bundle fodder, but I like the idea that the Devs get nearly full price
25 EUR for the three, not bad.
Now I'm trying to decide between 7 Days to Die and Project Zomboid on Steam. Why not both?

I went for Omno in the Epic sale as it looks nice and chill and is only £3.99 with the voucher. Really tempted by Sable but they've reduced the price to £13.39 which means it's 60p too cheap to qualify. Can't see why they've done that really as they'd get more money (the £10 discount comes out of Epic's pocket) and likely make more sales if it was £13.99.

I imagine they just set their price in dollars and the system does the exchange rate calculation.

You may have dodged a bullet - it's a puzzle platformer! I should have done some research.
More seriously, there are some really good things there - the art style obviously, but the far future/ruined world/whatever it is, is done really well and feeds into one's imagination.
Also, I think the game might allow you to decide when it's complete - there are lots of doohickeys to collect, if you're engaged, but it seems like they will let you finish the game with just a few of these. So you might be able to call it a day at five hours rather than twelve hours, if you're not feeling it, I think.

I played the demo in the last Steam demo fest so I'm happy with the gameplay. But then I'm the type of scum that enjoys a walking sim and calls that a game as well. 😁

But then I'm the type of scum that enjoys a walking sim and calls that a game as well. 😁 Oh definitely, me too. I just dislike platformers. That said, it was a bit of an exaggeration to call it a puzzle platformer; there's enough other stuff there for me to get past that. Enjoying it, played 5 hours already!

I bought all kinds of little bits and bobs this time around. Ended me up with 10 games at an average of 2,50 €. Sounds silly, but being that efficient during a sale is quite satisfying.
I wanted to replay Halo and try the rest of the trilogy while I'm at it. The others are mostly pretty small and often short games.
