😎 Yeah, I seen that the Blade Runner Enhanced Edition came out yesterday. Is it any good? I could honestly barely tell the difference between the screenshots and the SCUMM version up on GOG … An absolute classic, though. So I’ll almost certainly pick it up anyway. EDIT: Yikes, just took a look at the reviews on Steam and GoG (with whom owners of the original version get a 50% discount). Brutal lol www.rockpapershotgun.com/the-blade-runner-games-new-remaster-looks-worseBest thing about the release is finding out the original version was on GOG. The worst thing is finding that’s been removed now. Edit: oh, you get the original version with it.

And so, the backlog grows. I bought Escape Simulator and The Fermi Paradox. The former was highly recommended by John Walker at Buried Treasure and I played a demo of the latter in a previous Steam Next Fest and it just got its hooks into me.

Escape simulator is really good fun, especially co-op. There are some great user created escapes on the workshop too, the potential for content feels endless.
I just picked up the season pass for King's Quest, mostly so when I finally finish the last of the original point and click I can bounce straight onto the new version and see how they handle that sodding beanstalk puzzle.

I got Horizon: Zero Dawn a tenner cheaper on cdkeys than it was in the Steam Sale.

Started off slow, but getting rolling now.
As mentioned in the Completed Games thread, I picked up:
Lock'n'Load Tactical Digital Starter Pack for 79c and decided I needed to finish the base module scenarios before buying DLC. That's done now so I will probably pick up a few more modules. This is a good time to try this out as the base module is 80% off (normally 3.99 EUR which is a bit much for what you initially get - though I got 5 hours out of it which isn't bad).
There is also a variation of the above called Nations at War Digital for which I also got the core module for 0.79. It concentrates on tank battles I think.
Then I plumped for XCOM Chimera Squad over Gears Tactics as Gears has been cheaper before. I hear both get a bit grindy at the end...
Finally (not finally), picked a couple of obscure trading games, Caravan and Merchants of Kaidan. No high hopes for these but I'd like to see what the trading game scene is doing generally, and they were dirt cheap.

I got Battletech, Escape Sim (thanks to the above), Besiege (looks fun), Planet Zoo and The Forest.

Well, got a bit weak and after trying the demos for "The Citadel" and "Amid Evil" I decided on
- The Citadel - Dusk - Fallout 4
Not that I have time for the latter, but in terms of open-world shooters there's too much wrong with the modern Far Cries. Fallout 4 seemed like the next best thing.
"Cruelty Squad" was in the running as well, but I don't have the nerve for it right down. Some other sale. Spending 10 € would feel a bit too much like trolling myself.

I do love the trend for souped up retro shooters. It's such a fun, timeless genre. Keep 'em coming.

Shadow Tactics is fewer than £4. Runs great on the deck as well.

Picked up Dragon's Dogma last night, as everyone seems to be excited for the sequel, but the first past me by. Looking forward to giving it a go.
Might be tempted by Escape Simulator, but it looks so much like a game that should be in VR that I feel I should wait. They've said they are going to do one, but no indication of when it will be.

I feel like Escape Simulator would definitely be better in VR if you have it, having played a couple of rooms. I didn't enjoy it as much as the Escape Academy demo though.

Tempted by Ace combat 7 as I used to love a flight sim, the DLC looks a rip off though

Dragon's Dogma for £3 something was all I ended up getting. I almost bought Monster Hunter Rise, but kept debating whether I should hold off on another Switch sale and get it there. The sale ending before I realised it would made the decision for me.
Also I meant to get Banished, but, again, forgot to do it before the sale ended.

Grabbed a few more recommendations from the steam deck thread (Dorf and Pre-Dynastic Egypt), then a last minute addition of Gwent Thronebreaker yesterday.
£74.18 altogether >_<

Combined with stuff from Green Man I think I'm at about £320 for this sale, 24 games. My Steam Deck coming earlier than expected pushed me to get a bunch of stuff from my wishlist and a few other things too. Haven't spent this much on a sale in ages.
Still might grab Last Call BBS and Neon White as well.

Only thing I could see of interest was Ghouls N Ghosts at 84p. But I have various versions of it.
Can't see anything else interesting! Am I blind or something?

Can't see anything else interesting! Am I blind or something? I'm moving into new genres (not sure if it's a good thing, given the genres ) and am backfilling with the top-rated games from those genres, so that's part of the explanation for me.

Fair do's. I don't know whether I'm even in the right steam section. All I can see is various leisure suit larry games. (They're STILL doing those ffs??) and various simulators.
There's even a "car tuning simulator".
What?

@quad - the sale ended yesterday IIRC. It's pretty much impossible to miss when it's on.

Ended up not grabbing anything as usual in recent years. There were one or two things tempting me, but I think I'll save my money to get Portal Collection on switch.
Got a few pennies in my steam wallet from trading cards, but that's about all I got out of it.

Got the Megaman Anniversary edition (Megaman 1-6) and the Castlevania Anniversary where I will mostly be playing through the first one over and over. Dirt cheap, and I adore the music.
