Well that patch didn't go so smoothly!
Some great QoL changes when the game finally comes back up. FINALLY no more blue engrams when you hit the powerful cap!
Catalyst boost applying to previous season's weapons is a good one too.

Whoops, character rollback sounds like a major issue.
I didn't really mind the at-level blues, this way I could raise the level of weapons and gear, and dismantle legendaries for materials and gunsmith progress. Now it's either or.

I was getting tired of my inventory filling up with blues so quickly. That should give me some reprieve.
I'm not starting the game again until I'm reasonably sure I won't lose my character or something, though.

No more blues is great, the number of times I've pushed a stack of 10 ascendant shards out of my postmaster on a day 1 raid or something is way too high.

Haha, yeah. There's some serious entitlement out there, especially now that they missed the 3-4am PST estimate and haven't said anything new. All completely ignoring the 3-4am part of course. It's like they expect the entire company to be working around the clock. /edit Should be back shortly, and enough time for people to test it before I think about logging on...

Been playing a lot this season.
My highlights have been solo flawlessing the new dungeon, and accidentally infusing a an Aurvandil Fusion Rifle with Reconstruction/Chill Clip/Charge Time Masterwork that was an absolute monster in GMs.
I'm still crying about the latter.

I ponied up for another 2000 silver. This sure is easier when it's all MS reward points. Got up to 6400 in all.
I've bought the Void shell, more or less because it was the only item that was 400 silver (and also it never seemed to be available for bright dust), and now I have just enough to get every season until the end of the saga with no leftovers.
Well, that's assuming that both Lightfall and Final Shape will include a free season. Seems likely though. In fact, I must remember to buy Lightfall before launch.
A bit of a gamble, since there's always a few stinkers, but after skipping the entire past year due to not having the time, I'm looking forward to getting back into a weekly routine. And hopefully Bungie has taken the season rot criticism to heart.

I decided to just get the lightfall + SP version via CDkeys. Under £60 and I usually get my money's worth from D2 expansions.
Definitely feeling SP fatigue though. Not nothing to hit 100 this time around and have barely touched it after getting the seasonal title.

I don't think they've ever included a free season have they? Not so far, but Lightfall will include season 20 even in the standard edition. SO I'm kinda assuming Final Shape will be the same (and if not, I can probably skip that one since expansion seasons are always meh). |

Rejoice, for Bungie confirmed that starting with Lightfall you won't be killed by physics anymore. Getting stomped into a wall will leave you with 1HP, which sounds annoying but at least somewhat manageable.

Don't have time to read it at the moment but I would love them to shift more towards the gunplay than the powers. In the last expansion I barely had to fire a weapon because my powers were always available.

They're kind of getting at that with these changes. I don't think the endgame difficulty will change that much, personally. Resilience taking a knock will hurt, but you won't have to juggle so much with builds any more when it comes to balancing subclass matching for build boosts with match game, champions and elemental burns. You'll have much more options for champs and match game is gone. The crafting changes are interesting, I'm not sure reducing the number of craftable guns was necessary - making stuff enhanceable if it's a random roll is good but sounds like it'll be a slow rollout. They just needed to make getting patterns less obnoxious than it is at the moment.
The headline thing is probably the heavy insinuation that power level is going away next year.

Yeah, that was a hell of a cutscene. Didn't expect anything quite that grand for a season finale.
It also got me just over 100 on the season pass, so felt like a good point to take a break for a couple of weeks.

Really liked that end mission and the cutscene. Felt proper epic. A real shift. Two things that been with us since day 1 of D1 - the Traveller above the Last City and Rasputin - are no longer.
