www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1OrQIg-7ao&ab_channel=Destiny2www.bungie.net/7/en/Seasons/SeasonOfTheSeraphSeason of the Seraph Gonna rebuild Rasputin as an Exo, as more or less predicted. Hive and Fallen enemies... again. Or mabe Hive and Scorn? I can't quite tell. I also see some of the old Will of the Thousands assets in the trailer. The usual story and new activity, plus a weekly exotic mission. There is a new weapon that gets new powers with weekly catalyst, which sounds a bit weird. Not sure if it's available to everyone or just season pass owners. Also, the Dawning and Moments of triumph, but those are free for everyone, just saying. Not sure I'm feeling this. I'll see how the weekly activity is before plunging, as usual. But I should mention that I didn't plunge in the last three seasons, so it's a bit of a difficult call.

I got this recently. Tried to visit most locations and have a go at everything. Not yet run into whichever NPC is tasked with explaining what the hell is going on, or why, or how, but none of that really matters when everything is so pretty. When you're new it's best to just pick a quest from your log and keep following it. Eventually you'll run out of stuff to do and have a better understanding of what to do.

In better news, the full auto toggle for weapons has finally been added in the options menu.

I would ordinarily do just that, and have completed a few, but I'm really enjoying just randomly choosing stuff from the map, and then chasing round behind high levellers learning the ropes, it's always spectacular.

I'll probably just leave the story stuff to pile up and wait for the inevitable making the seasonal title easier to obtain. Last season was a bit shit and I really burnt myself out on that stupid activity. Do love me a bit of Rasputin, though. Fingers crossed this one is worth a look.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't see any seasonal activity on the map?
I'm collecting some resonant frequencies (hello Warmind), but it doesn't actually seem related to the main quest.
Edit: now that I notice, I didn't receive the usual seasonal quest either...
Edit 2: pretty sure it's bugged. Doesn't fill me with confidence. Maybe I'll just keep my silver... again.

They've even got some of the coolest music. The vex boss from Dares is awesome (from the black garden in D1 IIRC)

The Vex are easily the collect enemy why do they keep ignoring them That they are, and they have the coolest weapons too. But they are also kinda irrelevant to the current story arc. Basically we are at the point of the story when everybody is taking sides with either the Witness or the Traveler for the final conflict, while the Vex seem to be staying generally neutral. Whenever they appeared in a season, it was just as generic enemies, or smokescreen for someone else, like Savathun in Season of the Splicer. Makes sense though. Mute robots are kinda hard to use well. They made more sense in D1, where the story and script seemed to be an afterthought, and the enemies were generic insect robot zombie soldiers... whatever. But they are a lot harder to work into their current story approach, which is focusing on dialogue all the time, even with the enemies. Anyway, given that everybody else is dividing (Calus and Caiatl, Eramis and Mithrax, Xivu Arath and Savathun), I think we'll eventually see an allied (or at least, Traveler-aligned) Vex faction and a Witness-aligned Vex faction. Let's wait until Final Shape.

I still think that first introduction to the Vex in D1 on Venus is one of the coolest moments, when all the Goblins just teleport in around you and it all kicks off. I love the Vex too. I do prefer the Hive overall but even I am getting a bit fatigued fighting them all the time.

If I remember/interpret the lore correctly, the Vex are where this universe (which is maybe/probably a simulation by Traveler & Witness) is heading and they themselves are the figurative final shape. The literal final shape is probably the triangle or pyramid.

Still love my old roll, but I'm sure I can be persuaded by the enhanced perks.
Presumably they've at least sorted out targeted farming this season...

Gotta say I like the activity being somewhat challenging for a change. More stimulating that way
Anyone sone the dungeon yet? Anyone not done it and fancy trying it, going in blind (at till it gets in nips)?

I'm making a build based around grenades, melee, Montecarlo, overshields and Devour. The only missing piece is the fact that Devour kicks in by picking up an orb. The fact that Montecarlo has no catalyst, thus not creating any orbs, is already kinda crappy. But then, there's also the super problem to contend with.
If I want to be able to pick up orbs even when my super is full, do I really have no option other than a heavy with Explosive Light?

Creating orbs wih masterworked weapons is a thing of the past anyway I thought? Put on the kinetic siphon mod and you'll be generating orbs with MC.

Weapons making orbs naturally is a thing of the past now, it's now done by mods equipped to your helmet.
FWIW contraverse hold with vortex nades you may find as a better proc for devour, with more uptime and reliability and not having to use a specific gun.

Forgot to say, I'm a Titan. I can get Devour with Echo of Domineering, but that's the only way. Works pretty well though, with Echo of Persistence it stays up for a full 20 seconds plus any refresh, just like Overshield. It's an okay build for me, the only problem is that you need to be able to pick up orbs. Explosive Light could work, but there's currently no Void weapon that can roll with it, and because of elemental wells I'd rather use a Void weapon.

I stopped playing Destiny 2 around the time they released Beyond Light (barely touched it); is that story content plus the Witch Queen still available?
/not that I actually need such a time-sink, but I'm curious...

They removed the forsaken campaign but everything after that is staying in the game (or so they say at least, not that it means much)
So safe to buy if you wanted to jump back in.

API offline again, will be until early next week. A good reminder how much more tedious this game is without all the web sites and apps people other than Bungie created for it.
But with all the disconnects happening right now (probably the reason why it's being review-bombed on Steam currently), it's not a great time to play anyway.
EDIT: DIM has a new feature where it caches the last state, so just because it shows you something doesn't mean the API is online.

I really only need to get 100 more kills with ritual weapons to get the Moments of Triumph shell.
This would be faster if my only non-dismantled ritual weapon weren't a heavy grenade launcher. And the current pulse rifle still has a little while to go.
