Yeah it didn't take me many games at all but I just detest wasting any of my my spare time on it. A Vanguard equivalent is long, long overdue on some of these steps.

I would gladly take 50 strike bosses instead of 50 Guardians.
I have lots of catalyst quests in my quest archive because of those "kill 2000 Nova Warp Guardians with a powered Solar melee while they are under the effect of Stasis" quests steps.

In better news the Mythoclast is actually quite decent now. Happy to actually farm the Catalyst kills without using a cheese spot.

I'll wait until I have the quadruple quest bonus before attempting the Lorentz catalyst. It will make things easier.
On a side note, I like this stasis shotgun. And it's a non-slug precision frame, which was sorely missed in the Kinetic slot. For some reason Stasis final blows seem to count as Kinetic too, so that works for me.
Considering how horrible the two exotic Stasis weapons have been, this at least will help out.

Yeah, not touching crucible until I've got the 4x multiplier for that catalyst and a load of the weekly challenges have built up. (ditto for gambit)
Got until February to do it, so no rush!

By the way - if you don't enjoy crucible wait until season pass rank 22 before doing your catalyst quest for lorentz driver; it reduces the number of kills you need with it to 13.
For the first step, you don't need to use the gun at all. Only the second step.

Yeah, assists count for the first step too afaik so it's really not that bad, but I'll still be waiting until I've got all possible multipliers before I jump into Crucible.

In fairness it absolutely slaps in PvP so it's not the worst Catalyst quest I've ever seen. I just dislike being forced into it. It's still 4 or 5 matches between the 2 steps I'd rather not be playing at this point in the season when I don't get a long time to play in the first place.
I'm thoroughly enjoying the Mythoclast improvements though. I'm not sure it will be viable as an exotic slot in the ultra high-end content but for mid-high solo stuff it's enjoyable as fuck currently.

I enjoy the crucible actually, but I hate being forced to use a specific weapon. The Iron Banner quest steps are always a pain. And so are the catalysts.

Seem to remember it went free to play a while back. Do I need to spend money to get a decent experience of playing the game these days and has much changed?

Forsaken is still in the game, latest expansion is Beyond Light. Shadowkeep has some nice stuff but is relatively skippable. The seasonal content this season has been good so if you buy the deluxe Beyond Light you can play all those stories. Game does have that old issue of being a bit overwhelming if you haven't played in a while though; you might want to just grab the current season and see how you get on and go from there. |

Crap, it looks like the new exotics are tied to Beyond Light. I just completed a legend lost sector run, and instead of No Backup Plan, I got Citan's Ramparts.
Time to play on the Series S again. Hopefully for the only time this season.
Edit: just got them, but they are disappointing. They work exactly the same as in D1, but the gameplay balance of D2 is too different. What's the point?

Momentum control helps massively though, I cant imagine how painful it would be otherwise. I only came back to D2 towards the end of splicer, having not played since Forsaken so it's taken me a while to get my head around all the new systems (must be a nightmare for new players), and having switched from xbox/ps4 to pc so crucible has not been much fun. Usually just do my 3 games for the pinnacle and leave it at that, people seem way too good on pc compared to console. Although I am an old fucker now so reactions are definitely not what they used to be. Hoping to grind pinnacles to at least get me back on par this season, most gear now at 1320 compared to 1312 last season. Just need to find a loadout I'm happy with now breach + clear has gone :/ |

Wave frame GL + momentum control was probably your best bet last season. I'm guessing they've balanced that though.

Try running colony in momentum control along with the season of the hunt wave GL.

Mrs is working tomorrow though so might just get stuck in while momentum control is on and get a chunk done. |
