Never finished it.
Just wasn't fun to play. Almost to the point that I'm waiting to see if they add the cheats like they did control so I can just blast away to see the story.

I think I may end up thinking the same as you mate, I'm playing two story games at the moment, with the other being Rise of the Ronin and that is a lot more fun.

I completed the DLC. It was pretty decent but a lot too short, although it makes sense for it being Night Springs episode. Anyway would love more of these.

So at 3am this morning I woke up (insomnia) go into game room/Gears shrine! and thought let's play a bit of AWII, headset on as missus and kids asleep upstairs and I load in just before the chat show... The musical, well that was just bat-shit crazy in all the right ways so feckin good. 😎

Played the second (at least the 2nd one I found) dlc episode, the CONTROL one. I found it a lot less fun than the previous one. As for the main campaign, enjoying but I am struggling to navigate the maps, especially when using the clicker! which is sucking some of the fun out of it for me. I now have the option to switch characters, can I play to the conclusion with one character first or does the game force you to switch every chapter/episode ?

The second DLC is the weakest of the 3.
You do have to switch - you would get to the point it would force you to finish the other characters bits.

Another game it's taken me roughly a year to finish, but knocked of AW2 this morning. I'd not played much as Alan, so had to do all his bits to make the two strands join up which kinda sucked the momentum out of it.
Neat ending.

Been on the fence about this (wanted to like the first one but found the combat so annoying I could never get through it) so thought I'd try the demo.
Does the investigation/mind palace stuff ever require you to actually think or is it literally find really obvious clues and place them in the only place it will let you place them?

Yeah, it only lets you place it in the right place, however if you want to go through every section going.. doesn't go there.. I think most of it is fairly obvious, if you have been following the plot.

Cheers. Yeah it’s obvious where stuff goes so far, just wondering if it opens up after the first couple of hours of the demo. If not it seems kind of pointless! Very FMV point and click. Reminding me of Psychic Detective.

I quite liked the mind palace, but then again this was my bread and butter being a huge Twin Peaks fan. A good device to keep the plot moving on.

Same. As soon as it reveals she can make these huge deductions out of nowhere I knew I would just have to go with it. Enjoying it so far as it’s even more interactive twin peaks than the first one.

Next dlc out soon. Tempted to pay for the upgrade so I can play both dlcs. Loved the main game and looking forward to a reply at some point down the line when I’ve forgotten most of it.

I know it bothered lots of people, but I liked the aesthetics of it. Definitely could have done more with it and could have made you think a bit more, but I liked it for it was.

The DLC is all weaved in to a playthrough, so if you do replay it at some point it would feel quite fresh with the added content I'd have thought.

Of the 3 vignettes I think Biggest fan was way the best. I'm still owed a cheveo for completing the last one! the previous ones only unlocked with starting the next dlc, but this one just wants to stay locked, no big deal of course but still. I am looking forward to the new dlc hopefully it comes out early next month

I liked them all. Amusing enough diversions. The one with Faden was obviously my favourite though. Anything to put me back in the Control universe, even tangenitally, and that's me sold. This is why I'm jonesing for The Lakehouse.
Kind of hoping it's later in October. Then I can slide on to it after SH2.

I liked them all too, but the first was definitely the best (mainly for the "My motorcycle is also a werewolf!" moment). Personally thought the second was the weakest, but I did like being back in Jesse's shoes.
Really looking forward to The Lakehouse.

I'm unsure about SH2, seems to be getting very mixed feedback albeit the last few "hands on" do seem a lot more positive. I really hope it is a great remake and if so will get day 1 as I love the series and especially the original trilogy. In fact I have a plan, if it doesn't get reviewed too well I'm going to start the HD collection, I know that 2 gets a lot of stick from that but I do have it already in my collection. ...anyway that Alan Wake fella

Everything I've seen since has compeltely sold me on it though, from the positive hype to the footage I've seen. I've no doubt it won't quite live up to expectations, but I still think it will be very good. The HD collection, whilst not the ideal way to play, is servicable. Just don't do what I did a few months back and play it then bounce over to the original PS2 version. Then you REALLY notice it. These days I've got SH 2, 3 & 4 for the PS2 so I play on that. I have done a couple of playthroughs of both SH 2 & 3 on the HD collection as well though and, yeah, they should be a fuckton better but they're playable.

The prices for the PS2 SH are insane now. I'm not sure what is going on, as 2 for example was a pretty common release back in the day.

Probably not a lot of people sell theirs on so even though loads were made the market isn’t flooded? Looks like the one I have goes for about 90 now.

Just got to the musical talk show sequence. Those beautiful crazy bastards. Just such a wonderful experience. Does make me want to persevere with the original, but I feel Remedy have really found their groove with Control and this.

The last time I smiled as much at a musical number in a game was when playing Saints Row 2 and Take on me comes on the in game radio and my in game self starts (trying) to sing along 😄👍
