Ah to play BotW again with a fresh mind. If I hadn't sat and watched my son replay it earlier this year, I think I would be ready to give it my first proper playthrough since release.... I might save it as my last Switch hurrah before Switch 2, whenever that comes. It'll join Banjo Kazooie as the only adventure games I've ever completely replayed through in my life, I've always been a one and done kinda guy, despite it being my favourite genre.

I actually really enjoyed replaying that game. You quickly remember what you did last time and in which order, so it’s interesting to see how things play out if you go to other areas first.

Losing Pikmin isn’t any easier to deal with in Pikmin 4. I’ve yet to restart an entire day because of it, but I can imagine it being a whole lost more punishing if I did.

Ah to play BotW again with a fresh mind. Yep. One of a short list of games whose file I'd want to wipe from my brain's memory card (it's analogy day today apparently) to experience again fresh. Others include Paper Mario TTYD and probably the entire Xenoblade series (definitely 1 and 3 at least) I have at least 60. And given the amount of extra info around I'd start trying to speed run half of them so that would take me well into retirement, say 6months each to compete. Yo Elon give me a couple mill and a brain chip that doesn't attach properly (I've forgotten enough so your chip is futile)

Surely wait for Switch 2? 60fps ray tracing enabled BoTW yours for only £70 bargain?

As someone who doesn’t play many games these days, I bought and finished Thank Goodness Your Here yesterday and today - it’s only around 3 hours and humour wise is right up my street.
No idea what foreign folk would think of it, unless they know Python etc.

How come Advance Wars Re-Boot Camp is so hard to get a hold of? Did it get a UK physical release?

It definitely did, as I own it. However, I imagine it just barely broke a million sales and in such circumstances Nintendo limits reprints.
Such games tend to be restocked at Amazon, seemingly at random. But you could be waiting months for it, unfortunately.
Edit - Just checked and it was less than a million, so quite a failure for Nintendo, given its budget. The delay did it no favours and it was released with next to no promotion in the end.
I’m sure it’ll see a reprint soon, but you might need to find a way to track supply on Amazon/Nintendo/CeX or something.

Had a quick glance and seems to be available from Currys (with a sale price too).

Well, there go any chances for a new entry in the series, probably... Shame

Hopefully they will take into account the fucked up release it had. They delayed it for ages and then didn't put any marketing behind it when it finally did release. I was really interested in it when it was first announced (not being familiar with the series, but liking the brief amount of the spiritual success, Wargroove, that I played). Then it spluttered out with no fanfare.
Would pick it up now, if it weren't for having a load of other games on at the moment.

I’ve only finished the first game but it is an excellent package. If you’re new to the genre or more of a casual fan, the lower difficulty will still test you. It just won’t punish you as heavily for your mistakes.
I much preferred this to Wargroove (which, admittedly, I did not finish).

Just picked up FE Engage and was looking at what else has released recently (last year or so) that I've missed
Don't know if I fancy TotK though. Is Mario Wonder still good if you play solo/offline? I vaguely remember reading it has a notable online aspect to it

It’s still a solo game at heart. I would switch on the online functionality though. It really adds to the experience without anyone really being able to impact your game. You can just leave power ups for each other, or help each other solve puzzles/find secrets.
It was the best part of that game, in my opinion.

Honestly thought after finally finishing TotK a couple of months back that that might be it for me for the Switch after an incredible 7 years, then they announced this little beauty!! I'm so hyped for it, I feel like a little kid again.

I imagine this is gonna struggle on the Switch like Link's Awakening so might save this for the Switch 2.

I notice Hector is DLC. Bastards, Nintendo. At least we get Lyndis
I just started a playthrough of Fire Emblem The First One as well. Those GBA character animations are still my favourite pixel work

Is there romancing in Fire Emblem Engage? Sort of. You go around and give gifts to people, and can exchange like a promise ring with them at some point, which is basically the game's version of marriage. But it's not as involved as Awakening or Three Houses, which (imo) is to its benefit. Three Houses was fucking creepy.

Oh, and you kind of develop relationships with the spirit bond characters by polishing their rings.

You get their ring and give it a thorough rubbing as they cry out in pleasure.

Anime twins, amnesia, weird close up of your mum's boobs- it's definitely a modern Fire Emblem
I liked the social side of things in Three Houses a lot more than previous games. It was more fleshed out. Became a bit of a pain on subsequent playthroughs though as it really slows things down with all the running about

Yeah, I've never really cared about that kind of stuff. I recognise that the "making my red knights kiss" social stuff is a large part of the reason why the series didn't die after Awakening. But I've always enjoyed the tactics more, and in that regard Engage is the best Fire Emblem I've played in years.
The characters and story kind of suck, though.

Maybe the joy is in the playing but I’m feeling quite lukewarm to Zelda EoW atm it just looks very cookie cutter to me. Like it was built in a Hyrule special edition of Minecraft?
