Couldn't resist fire emblem at that price, even if it's a 3+ year old game...

Three Houses? That's always been £45ish for physical any time I've checked, but I might've missed some digital sales.

So the new pokemon is a bit buggy? How's the co-op?
I was thinking that Sword/Shield was the best option for my son, though of course now he's seen the ads for scarlet/violet he wants that one.
Every image I've seen of it has been annoying bloody anime schoolkids though, which is something I detest with the power of a thousand burning suns. Is the entire thing set in some school or can you ignore that and make a character that doesn't look like a twat?

Theres a fairly short section in the school in the opening hours (finished it on my commute today), but then they just set you off in the open world with a load of icons to go and investigate. Presumably you'll get called back at some point, but it's been a small part of the game so far.
Performance is shit, but you get used to it (seems less glaringly bad in handheld) No idea about coop, and there are lots of clothing options but my character still looks like a little twat.
It'll be harder to go back to SW/SH after this (although maybe not for a youngster), so I'd say get those out of the way first if you can and wait for this to get a few patches.

If it's anything like Sword/Shield it'll have more customization options as you progress, but the entire setup for the beginning is that you're enrolling in Pokeschool, so you'll look like a schoolkid for a good bit.
It's got a fair few hairstyles and face options, though (careful though, after the initial character creation you'll -probably?- only be able to change hairstyle and hair/eye colour). It's no Elden Bling or similar, but for a Pokemon game it's actually pretty detailed.

Apparently if you go back to school of your own volition you can earn upgrades.

I did try taking a class before I left to see if it'd give me a bonus (battle 101 or something), but it just seemed like an utterly pointless tutorial for anybody vaguely familiar with Pokémon games.

Supermarket Shriek is at its lowest price yet. Quite fun game, can't vouch for the Switch version as I've played it on the One.
Only, judging from the price history, it looks like it might go even lower.

Did anyone play the Portal Companion Collection in splitscreen? If so, how did it work out?
I wanna play Portal 2 local co-op with the kids, and I'm trying to decide between Switch split-screen or doing it on 2 PCs.

But you could also just use one PC, pretty sure Valve added split screen co-op to Portal 2 some years ago. The PC version should be considerably cheaper too.

Nier Automata is £24 quid over at dirty old Amazon at the moment. Splatoon 3 is £37, which is slightly amazing for a recent release.
The former is very tempting at that price, whilst I can personally vouch for the latter.
Kirby and The Forgotten Land, both Mario Party games, Luigi's Mansion 3, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 and the Let's Go Pokemon games are also in that £37 bracket. Not stunning, but decent enough for anyone looking to fill the gaps of their Switch libraries.

Kind of shows that if you see a first party game going fairly cheap at launch (Currys usually have a code), you might as well just buy it then.

You might even miss your chance. I'm never going to find a cheap copy of Majora's Mask 3D (no less because Nintendo of Europe didn't bother inserting it into their budget line, unlike Nintendo of America).

Anyone took a punt on Immortal:Rising whatever it is called? How does it run? Probably foolish to buy it with BOTW2 not that far off but I got a bit of a hankering to play it.

A bit slow to this one, but Golf is now available on Switch Sports. Just waiting for some time off work to get into it properly.

It is basically BOTW (with ACreed mixed in) for other consoles . Much of it is a a direct steal in so many ways. Good combat though IMO. Anyway, if you are after Breath of the Assassins Creed to lose yourself in for a few weeks, then this is it.

It was originally called Breath of the Ass.
True story.

I bought Sonic Mania when it was on sale. Played it for 20 minutes. Got pissed off at repeatedly drowning in the Chemical Plant Zone and went back to playing BOTW.

Inscryption out on Switch now... keen to know if it plays/runs well - nearly bought on PC a few times but seems like it could be a very good fit for Switch...

Been really enjoying the pick up and play nature of the switch lately. Been struggling to get into longer games (GOW:R is the latest one I’m struggling to get through) but really enjoying just having 10 - 30 Minutes of Mario Kart and Splatoon 3. Odd Picross and Mini Motorways session too.

Fwiw the demo put me right off it. I kind of enjoyed the demo. I’m a sucker for Ubi open world stuff though. I don’t think they are as bad as people make them to be. It looks ok on the switch too, though I suspect I would start playing it and just binning it for the ps5 version.
