Tales of vesperia and ni no kuni heavily reduced. Either worth picking up? Or would you recommend one over the other? Coming to the end of xenoblades 3 (which I've absolutly loved!) Get both.

I thought the combat in ni no Kuni was absolutely awful and there is loads of it. Other than that it's quite a nice game with lovely presentation but you can't take more than 5 steps without a fight when you aren't in a town.

I asked over on the Discord channel, but if anyone has Animal Crossing that they're looking to flog, give me a shout. My daughter has decided she'd quite like to play it so looking to get her one for her birthday next month. Quoted for new page...

Currys are doing their usual discount on games before they're released, so just nabbed Bayo 3 for £38 despite having a backlog as long as a very long thing.
Got Nier Automata turning up today too. Will be the third system I've played it on.

Started No Man's Sky. It works pretty well and looks alright, though I usually play everything handheld. Cheaper & better performance on pc of course but I might as well burn the money if I get a pc game these days.

Ooooh. I'm tempted by No Man's Sky on Switch, just because I am craving a game like that to unwind and get lost it at the moment. Nothing too taxing, but also a time sink. I just might have to get it.

I have played 2 or 3 hours and I think I'm starting to emerge from the bounds of the tutorial. First impressions are that it might be an extremely grindy and fetchy space sandbox at heart, always chasing the next resource that you need in order to build the next thing and tinkering with whatever seems to be of interest at any moment. Or maybe it's just a more expressive, less hard edged version of Elite? The old one, not the new one. I didn't get on with the new one.

NMS is many things to many people, and the next update sounds like it'll have even more gameplay customisation. I found the story and writing for the main quest to be surprisingly good for a sandbox game, and enjoyed many aspects of the end game including the frigates and freighters, hunting for exotic ships and searching for that elusive paradise planet to build a permanent base on.

I know the original game was a very simplified grind. Mine ores, sell, buy bigger ship, repeat. But that managed to keep me going for 30 hours when I had a PS4. As long as these updates have added some more meat, as Nano suggest, that might be enough for me. For now at least.
I mean I am currently flipping between Dragon Quest and Fallout Shelter, so I am good for narrative and more purposeful quests. I just need something I can just switch off to. Like rewatching an old TV series.

The original game was a great chill out for a few hours and switch your mind off kind of game. Perfect for unwinding after a shit day at work. I've tried coming back to it a few times but just get overwhelmed by all the new stuff they've added.

Same. I platinumed it at launch and have seen all the updates dropping with interest but whenever I’ve booted up I’ve never stuck with it long enough to even launch off the initial planet.
I have Astroneer and need to give that a go for teh same kinda switch off and chill vibe.

Looks like I now have the ability to go wherever I like in NMS so I will pick a random planet and see what happens. I hear the big update is due very soon on Switch. The lack of inventory space is annoying but I think that's one thing they are fixing.

ricesandwich I think you can upgrade your inventory, both your own and your ship. Unless I am remembering wrongly.

Nier Automata is good so far (well I mean I'm hardly going to not enjoy it for the third time...)
30fps feels a bit jarring at first but you soon get used to it. Network features are utterly broken as you would expect on day 2.

Deponia collection is only £3.59 at the moment. Couldn't resist double dipping even if I've never actually played any of them!

ricesandwich I think you can upgrade your inventory, both your own and your ship. Unless I am remembering wrongly. I think I read in the new update that you can pretty much customise every aspect to suit your needs - you can completely turn off the life support requirements in your suit for example so you can just potter around for as long as you want. Can make combat normal, harder, or get rid of it entirely. Along with resource requirements - you can have it normal, make it harder for yourself, or just have infinite etc. Suppose it depends what kind of experience you want really

Yeah, saw that. I think I'm done with NMS after 10 hours as while it's a sandbox the limits of the procedural generation / algorithmic aspects are hard to ignore. I suppose that I see doing that slightly different versions of the same few tasks over and over again is a bit of a waste of time.

Family Membership (w/expansion pack) due to expire in a week so been looked ng to see the cheapest methods to get the full family membership (not wanting to do any sharing malarkey) with the expansion. It seems you cannot get digital codes for the expansion, only the basic memberships. Is the cheapest way a £22.99 CDKEYS family membership followed by the 8p per remaining day discount off the full £59.99 price? (Which by my reckoning is £53.78, saving about 6 quid). Or is there some other method I should he considering to save some dosh?

Anyone using the Skull & Co Neogrip on the OLED? I've had a look at various grips and that one seems the best option overall. From what I've read the Satisfye grip is more comfortable, but it's much more expensive with extortionate shipping prices from the US.

I've had both and I prefer the Skull & Co one - mainly because you can still dock the Switch with it attached. No real difference in comfort IMHO. It's the one I use now.

I bought Pinball Wizard the other day. It looks very cute. I remember enjoying Yoku's Island Express, so I am open to the idea of Pinball being ham-fisted into other gaming genres! I'll update the thread if it's any good, but the trailer alone was enough to convince me to throw money at the TV.

I did this last week when mine expired.

Was a fun game from what I remember. Well worth it at that price, anyway.
My switch is becoming my most played console these days. Since getting the OLED model I've been using it out of the dock more and more (well, more than never wouldn't be hard!) Bargains like this to beef out the library are always welcome.

Picked up Eastward a couple of weeks back and it’s finally starting to get it hooks into me. It’s an odd one, I havn’t felt the need to play it that much and will often reach for something else over it but when I do play it I enjoy it, even if it’s for just half n hour. Guess it’s just asking for me to take my time with it. Story is shaping up quite nicely. It’s a cross between old school top down zelda with Jrpg storytelling. Nice combo.

This sounds like what I was looking for, how does it work, just add the 2 years by code to Switch then when upgrading it offers to take time from it with a small fee? (Assumedly ending up with 1 year of expansion pack enabled family at the end)

(Assumedly ending up with 1 year of expansion pack enabled family at the end) Yeah exactly that, you can do it all from the website on the membership page. After applying the codes it reduces the price it shows for the expansion pack to whatever it costs to convert it, worked out as £1.67 for me. You just don’t want to have more than two years when you convert as it’ll still only give you one year expansion pack, you’d lose the rest.
