The boy has got Sports for his birthday on Tuesday, looking forward to giving it a go. It's really great. I've burned out a little playing solo after burning through 20 hours of play, but I can see it picking up steady play over long periods like 51 clubhouse games did for me. (70 hrs and counting in that one) it's another perfect "10 minutes" here and there game that's also great for when guests come over. If I can get my Wife involved in some doubles Tennis 🎾 (not a euphemism) I could see me doing another 20 hrs at least over the next few weeks.

Only had a quick blast on bowling, tennis and badminton, but it's decent enough. Good old fashioned waggle is back!

I bought Mini Motorways and its excellent! It looks nice. Its simple to pick up and its highly addictive. Its visually satisfying just linking roads, but it's actually a pretty difficult game to play. I'm currently in the bottom 40% of the communtiy in regards to my scores and I haven't yet done enough to unlock the extra challenges.
Its got that late night gaming vibe to it too. I can see myself playing a few rounds in bed before snoozing. I can see why it has a night time graphic setting. Its very easy on the eyes.

How are the controls on the switch? Can imagine it being a bit fiddly placing the roads?

I bought The Stanley Parable and Retro Bowl for a long weekend away, and I'm pretty hooked on Retro Bowl. Well worth a fiver if you've any interest in American football.

How are the controls on the switch? Can imagine it being a bit fiddly placing the roads? They're fine. I mean, I can occasionally fluff up placing a short diagonal road when using the analog sticks, but its pretty rare. Besides that, it is technically slower than using a touch screen, but it feels pretty fluid using an on screen cursor. Failing that, it supports touch screen controls and you can switch between the two control types without opening any menus.

Loved Mini Metro and this scratches that same itch. It’s a little step up in, as you say, difficultly than metro. I can see myself easily sinking many many hours into this.

I got it too, haha. At first I thought it’s too random and basic but now I’m slightly addicted.
Such a lovely little game to play in bed.
Back to loving my Switch again 😂

I managed to hit 1400 on San Fran, Beijing and Dar es Salaam, but Tokyo is tough! I got 800 twice, but I can go no further.
Absolutely loving it though. Its such a clever spin on city building.

I've hit 1500 on that one, but that literally means I lasted about 10 seconds longer than yourself. Haha.
Munich and Zurich are tough. I cant break the 1000 point barrier on either. Had to skip ahead on those, just to mix things up.
I've started soing the daily and weekly challenges too. The rule changes make for some interesting games.

I want to give this a go, but I hit a wall pretty quickly with Mini Metro and got frustrated. Mini metro feels a bit rough in comparison having played it after Mini Motorways. I’d say worth a shot to see if you have same frustrations

I haven't found it particularly frustrating, personally. You do need to accept the randomness of it, I suppose. But I enjoy the process of building the cities up, so its a win win experience for me.

Yeah still addicted to it. Lovely isn’t it.
What I found worked well is trying to keep the different coloured places separated from each other. So from the start, try to keep cars on their own separate route to buildings, not having to cross onto other routes if that makes sense.
Separate note; just downloaded and started the Silt demo. Beautiful and very cool. I love these Inside / Limbo type of games.
Spending more time on my Switch portable vs PS5 lately. Such a great piece of kit.

Does anyone here have Switch Sports and Ring Fit Adventure? Thinking of picking them up for the younglings. I imagine Switch Sports plays basically the same as Wii Sports, but how does Ring Fit compare with Wii Fit? Are there similar balance games and things, or is it mostly running and squeezing the ring thing?
Basically, my eldest really likes the various tightrope walking/iceburg balancing games on Wii Fit, but I'm hoping there's something similar in Ring Fit because, quite frankly, I could do without having another console hooked up to the TV and cluttering up the living room.
Cheers all for the advice!

Ring Fit Adventure is a cool RPG runner, essentially, when’re you run to make the character run, and squeeze the ring to fire at enemies. It scales up from there into a pretty decent fitness title, doing a range of body weight exercises and stretches. I liked the short bit I played but it doesn’t quite sound like what you’re looking for above. YT probably has some playthroughs you could scan.
