That Red Faction looks fun. I think I'll buy that if it's still on sale. Otherwise I'm going to have to read a...book...

Thanks it was and I had 80p in points, so it cost 99 pence. That said, I think I'm too tired tonight, so will just check my eyelids for any holes and look at it tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up on this. I've been focused so much on the Stadia, I've forgotten the poor old switch.

Is Stadia still a thing?! Very much so. They had a sale of old stock so I got one for £20 (4k Chromecast and a controller). I got 4 months free access and bought AC Odyssey complete edition for £9.99. Playing the system (it comes with about 25 games you can play while your subscription lasts) is like witchcraft. I've got a AAA capable game system for peanuts. Playing Odyssey in 4k is amazing. Looks stunning and there's no lag or anything. Google said in 2019 that they'd support it at least 10 years, so it'll probably outlive me. I highly rate it.

TBF in 2019 Google also had first party studios making Stadia exclusive games then... they closed them all down and essentially abandoned the platform. I'll pass.

Yeah they did, but they found that wasn't working for them and closed it down. They're still getting the new games like Valhalla on there.
I'm not pretending to myself that it's going to last forever, but it will last longer than most consoles I've bought and be cheaper. I only have the Switch, so to be able to play Control, Dirt, AC, Red Dead Redemption etc is just great for me. When I'm done, I've got a Chromecast and a game controller. Either way, I'm really enjoying it and my Switch hasn't been turned on since I got it.
If you were interested in Saints Row 4 on the Switch, you could get a Stadia and 6 months access to a far better version of Saints Row for half the price of the Such version +and all the other games too). To me, that's a bargain. I know some people are very anti it, but each time I load up Odyssey, I'm smiling and it's worth the £30 easily just for that.

Red Faction: Guerrilla is a fun time, and it’s a good port on switch. Gotta love an open world game where you just destroy the open world.

Saints Row 4 is also $5 on PSN. 👀 Yeah, but I don't have a PlayStation. Anyway, back to the Switch.

Yeah, and that's why I didn't mention it earlier. But suggesting getting a Stadia and 6 month subscription is a steal vs the Switch port was a little funky to me.
The allure of getting it for Switch is the portability anyway, and neither PS4 or Stadia provide that. Actually, maybe Stadia does; I haven't looked too closely into it, but you'd need to carry around a controller and stand with you too, and hope the wifi's strong.

I reckon it will be a lauch game for the Switch Pro Possibly, but it wouldn't be exclusive and being a major selling title, it would have to run very solidly on the base model.

I see Amazon UK have a bunch of Switch games down to 30 quid including Metroid Dread, Pokémon Snap and a few more. Good price for Metroid but I already have it but thought I would give a heads up.

Hmm that's very tempting, can't imagine it getting much cheaper than that anytime soon.

Yeah I just bought MD as 30 quid is a bargain. Not played on my Switch for 12 months or more so good excuse to dust it off.

Metroid Dread is awesome. Taking my time with it, exploring every nook and cranny. Bossfights thus far have not been too difficult (although the one I'm at now needs some mental preparation first). Those E.M.M.I.-s are really terrifying, as is proper panic-inducing Very well done.

Contra:Rogue Corps for £1.99 anyone? Looks shit, but 4 player local co-op could be a laugh!
This Switch really is my shovelware platform of choice, so much cheap shit.

I bought that for Xbox awhile back. I did a few stages and thought it was fine, but have not had the urge to return to it.
Isometric Contras have never been well received though. There was a similar negative reaction to the PS1 and PS2 isometric titles, until Neo Contra came out and was just Hard Corps in 2.5D.

I forgot just how challenging those bonus levels on 3D World are. I thought I'd try and beat them all without relying on either the Cat or Tanooki suits and some of them are pretty tough. I'm trying to get all the green stars and stamps too, which doesn't help, but when you can't climb or float you need to be incredibly precise.
Still an incredible game though. Better than Oddysey, which is fantastic in its own right.

Anyone here playing Monster Hunter Rise? I’ve just started a new character and looking for people to play with.

Ha, I was thinking about starting that again (for about the third or fourth time) just yesterday. Got through the character creation and came to the realisation that I'd had my fun. Should have just bought a doll

I'm a little surprised at the lack of hype for the new Pokemon on these parts. I think it looks great, personally.

I made the mistake of buying Shiny Pearl or whatever it's called, which put me off getting any more Pokémon games for a while...
Quite like the sound of it from the review on the other place though, so I might chuck that on eBay and buy this to replace it.

Pokemon isn't much my thing either. I might get one of the Let's Go games eventually, but I've not enjoyed Pokemon since the late 90s.

I think I'll pick it up next month as I've got a bunch of credit with game (unfortunately). Could be a marmite game with some people so I'm hoping it'll be pre-owned.

I've tried Pokémon a couple of times previously but it's never really stuck. I was too old for the cartoon so I have no affinity to the franchise, though I enjoyed the Detective Pikachu movie (up until the final 10 mins).
Having checked out a couple of reviews for Arceus I'm tempted to try again, as the changes they've made to the world structure make it sound quite interesting.
