If you’re a fan of top-down twin-stick roguelites, you could do a lot worse than Hyperparasite, currently on special for fuck all. The shooting is solid, and the parasitic possession mechanic is pretty cool…though it makes me pine for a proper Paradroid reboot. A fun diversion, or palate cleanser, in between bigger gaming commitments.

A Short Hike is what you need. Bit late in reply, I like to put anything I like the look of on in my watch list and pop in now and again to see what is on sale. It's a game in itself! Moonlighter 80s Overdrive katamari Horace (which will will bring tears of joy to any old zx spectrum codgers) cat quest pikuniku doom (the old one) .. each for a fiver or far less. Plus Owlboy and the amazing Virtua Racing port for a bit more but probably under £10. I've had Horace sat there for a while I've dipped into it and it seems great. I'll take a look at. The rest of the list thank you 😉 |

Bought my kids a second Switch - so they've got one at mine and one at their mum's. Decided to get Mario Party Superstars and Smash Bros Ultimate so we can play together over Xmas.

Anybody else have issues with the screen size changing when docked?... Feels like every other day I have to go into settings and change between 96% and 100%
I've turned off the manage TV power state setting in case that helps, which is annoying as it's quite useful. Think I've also disabled it on the PS5 due to another niggling issue.

"Turn it off and on again" is irritating advice, but have you tried doing a full fresh reboot of your TV? My TV used to have an issue where one of the HDMI inputs would just give me a blank grey screen when it switched into HDR mode, and rebooting the TV would usually fix it. I know it's a different issue, and restarting doesn't fix everything, but it's annoying how often it's something so simple. dfunked |

Yeah, tried that a few times. Think it worked once, but I haven't been able to repeat it consistently. cubby - 2018 Samsung It's mildly annoying, so not the end of the world I guess. |

Downloading it now... 😁 Let me know what you think chief So - Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon - I've put about an hour into it so far (trying to beat Metroid Dread before I get too stuck in!) and it's very Shovel Knight - down to the music and sound effects. However, I'm less sold on the actual puzzle aspect - it's clever - a combination of real time/turn based but it doesn't feel like there's huge amount of skill required - more luck on what upgrades you unlock. It's also got a Rogue-like aspect whereby every game over puts you back to the beginning without any of the upgrades you've unlocked... It's fun, but I wouldn't rate it as highly as Grindstone... |

I just read the Nintendo Life review of Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon - interestingly I agree with it in the most part, although I do think it's too heavily weighted towards luck (rather than skill) and don't rate it as highly as the reviewer does. Still, YMMV and all that...
In other news - I've just seen that Risk of Rain 2 is discounted to a fiver on the eShop - not that I need more games - but I loved the original!

The Mega Drive app has been updated for any NSO+ members. 6 new games, including the original Toe Jam & Earl.
Considering my excitement, I've not put much time into either of the Mega Drive or N64 games yet. I've got too many games on my plate at the moment. One of those being the time sink that is Animal Crossing. At least the DLC for that has been worth paying the subscription for.

Then whenever I kill the sheriff it does the same. That is 3 hard lock ups in 30 minutes of play. I know it is only £2.30 but I genuinely want a refund. |

I got to the open world and finished a couple missions, no crashes so far and the framerate is quite decent (the only version I played before was the 360 one, and this one fares well enough in comparison). You do get the feeling they should have capped it to 30fps though, it's not very consistent. I installed it on the MicroSD, but I don't know if that means anything. |
