I dunno, the 'always on' excuse doesn't really hold water when other similar racing games have managed fine before without it (and currently still do). It's just shitty in general that you can't play the single player stuff if the servers go down on Sony's end.
Fair point on the credits but still a little underhand knowingly doing this after reviews have dropped.
Just annoys me in general as it puts an asterisk next to an excellent title.

I'm still going to use the AFK credit farming method until they stop it somehow. The AFKWhatnow? You use Remote Play and a windows script someone has written. It does the first race in the Pan American champs on repeat. TBH I'm just doing it for the Three legendary Cars trophy.

Article about it on EG. Play the game on PC via remote play and run some dodgy script.
I'm kind of tempted to try it too tbh.

See maybe it's because I don't pay any attention to trophies that the credit thing doesn't bother me.

And I still don't think the changing of the credits is anything major. Especially when it's came with a change to the roulette awards. It's certainly not enough of a change to make the internet collectively wet it's pants like it has. In case you were wondering why the outrage seems so disconnected from people who actually play the game:

No idea how accurate that is but for my part, every comment I read came with a suggestion to buy an Xbox and play Forza.

I genuinely can’t imagine getting that worked up over a game or a company.

I genuinely can’t imagine getting that worked up over a game or a company. These things MATTER! etc I'm genuinely thinking about buying GT7, being as it's payday and all. I haven't played a driving game in years or a GT since GT2. Almost positive that if I do buy it at full price, I'll play it a couple of times then forget about it, though. That's the usual story. Ugh.

GT7 definitely has some issues that need fixing and having the ability to play offline if you never intend to connect to the internet (which is a bit weird) and it uploading and checking the save for online if there's a server issue would be a good idea but the whining from people who never intended to buy it in the first place is fucking irritating.
"It's just DRM, I hate DRM Sony are evil, boo. Now I'll go and evangelise Xcloud instead of playing a game I can't play."

What's telling for me is that as just a player of the game, the always online thing is a way bigger issue than the credits thing, yet it's not under the same level of fanboy scrutiny because weirdo Xbox zealots don't have any ammunition on that score

I would argue that most other racing games with online leaderboards have cheaty world records that have to be purged on a regular basis. If online GT7 stops that, then I'm all for it. Yeah it was a pain that it was down for 2 days or whatever. But you know. Play something else. Read a book. Shit happens. The credit thing was pretty naughty though, especially as they seemed to check which ones the community had highlighted and just nerfed those ones. Dirty bastards.

Scheiße, the Porsche Nordschleife menu race is quite hard. Can't seem to tune either of my Porsches to not be ridiculously tail-happy.
Though as an aside I do find oversteer hard to correct in this game (on a pad). I always seem to overcorrect and start fishtailing like an idiot. It doesn't quite feel right. (Clearly the game's fault, not mine.)

Try with traction control off in assists but put TCS on 1 using the d-pad during the race, and try some more toe-in on both front and rear tires, and up the anti-roll bars to something like 7 front and 6 rear.

I think I have have TCS on 1 already in assists. Are you suggesting that it works differently if I do it the way you suggest?
I'll try those other tweaks, thanks. I never fiddle with that stuff as I don't understand it.

No it doesn’t change anything but I never checked but just presumed if you set it in assists that you can’t change it with the d-pad, so ignore that part maybe. Imo anti roll bars change a lot, if you increase the setting the car will be more stable but too much and it will understeer. The toe in just ads a bit more stability. You might need the fully customisable suspension to change these settings btw. Press square on any setting to read a short explanation.

The tickets can get fucked too. Had a 4 and a 1 star today, got the lowest prize both times. Don’t know if it’s meant to be a real roulette, but statistically it shouldn’t land on the lowest prize 90% of the time. I’m starting to wonder if it matters when you collect these, like it’s looking at how many credits you’ve gained that day.

Yeah the roulette thing really leaves a bad taste, when you consider the whole MTX controversy. Just give me the measly 5000 credits straightaway you tight bastards, rather than teasing me with fancy stuff you've programmed it not to give me.

I’d did actually get a nice original BMW M3 on the roulette once. Everything else- shite. It’s definitely not running on a one in five chance you’ll get something way, I guess they very occasionally punt something at you to try and pretend it is.

News of an update with changes to prize money has me wondering if I should wait before I start playing more events in the hopes of a better return without playing the same events twice or more.

TBH if you want the platinum you'll be replaying stuff over and over anyway. The Legendary Three Cars trophy could cost up to 55-60 million for 3 Le Man's winners.

Really enjoying Sport mode, been a long time since I put any real time into it on GT Sport so it's kind of a novelty again. Got a nice little record going of never losing any positions relative to my grid spot. Just call me Mr. Consistency.
