I wish I could get Sophy to drive the Neo-classic race at Willow Springs for me, I just get so fucking bored driving that circuit* and I don't want to abort the menu book as getting results at RBR and Fuji in the rain took some effort but they weren't dull.
*I do quite enjoy the Streets of Willow Springs layout though |

Hope you lovely people can help me out. I’ve just bought a G920 (Xbox version of the G29) and I’m using a Brook Ras1ution 2 on Ps5 to enable it. Steering wheels great but is it normal I’m fighting the steering wheel on straights and if I let go the wheel goes all over the show ? Not sure if it’s normal or the Ras1ution 2 is enhancing the feedback.

I played with a controller for the first time last night and was quite impressed with all the haptics and all that. Took me a few laps to get to grips with it but I was surprised to be only a few tenths off my current qualifying lap for the current sport race B race at Kyoto (which is a 1.37.0).
Played around with some settings and there was no difference between auto and Manual transmission, it’s really well optimised. Obviously you get more control with manual, but yeah overall, impressed. Sometimes it’s a bit of a hassle setting up wheel and VR. So might play a bit more on the pad.
Only thing I would say is that it feels stiffer/undeersteery on a pad but that might be just because I’m not used to it.

I've always played with a pad. The main thing I struggle with is I find it really hard not to put my "foot" all the way down when leaving a turn and I spin out.

Loving this VRR update anyway.
It turns out on PS5, the replays that are capped at 30 actually achieve mid-50fps most of the time, and that's with a screen full of cars. I really think the game could handle ray tracing during gameplay with VRR to smooth things out

One recommendation I saw somewhere about driving on pad is to crank the haptics in game to 150%, I've been driving with that set for ages and I think it helps.
Something I like about driving manual on pad is feeling the gear changes, they have a really satisfying thunk.

I'm surprised 4 player split screen has been added, any split screen these days is a rarity and then Kaz decides he wants to double what the PS5 supports, the mad man.
I will possibly be spending a lot of time getting the credits to buy the Challenger, there's something about that car I just love.

I know online has supplanted split screen, and outside Nintendo it's pretty rare (not helped with the price of controllers, at least on the Switch two sets can do 4P MK) but it's great to see.
Funny to think a 1/4 of a modern day TV is probably still a bigger screen most of us played on 20 years ago. I think we had a 21" at uni which we used for Karts and Goldeneye. You could get 25 players with the same physical window on a 55" today!

... And not just in terms of how much screen space everyone would get on a bit modern TV, each quarter probably has a higher resolution/pixel density than the entire screen of an old CRT.

First set of weekly challenges done, one does require the new Porsche that costs 340K but considering how fucking awesome it is just buy it, my roulette ticket threatened me with 5K of coins but I ended up with 500K so that's the car paid for after the fact.
Sophy is also rather more human like at times than expected.

Nice. I probably tackle those weekly’s tomorrow. Some Sunday driving methinks. Been playing a fair bit again recently. Despite sport mode needing a new lick of paint with some much needed variety, the online racing is so much fun.

Eiger is nice, very pretty, I expected it to be longer though and there's only it and reversed at the moment so maybe there's more to come on that.
My top tip for the Jimny race on it is stay in 4th most of the lap, don't be tempted to drop to 3rd when the rev meter bottoms out, you'll lose lots of speed.
