Am I misreading that payout changes screenshot or have they bumped a few rewards up from 5,000 to 70,000? They have increased the WTC800 races but I guess they were broken in the first place.

Meh well I'll be in the minority but I said at release that I thought the game was too generous, at least at the beginning, but that was mainly due to getting a free car every 5 minutes. I haven't had to think about money once yet.

You not buying any upgrades? That's where the money goes a lot of the time rather than on new cars, tyres cost a fucking fortune alone.

Upgrades are basically the only thing I've spent credits on. I think I've bought 3 cars total myself, I've been gifted everything else

One of the trophies requires 60 million. If you don't care about the platinum it's probably not an issue.

Once you've got a car in each class to the spec you want with some variations of setup you'll probably end up saving credits.

I played for 12 hours so far, and still going through the cafe menus and licences. Played a fair bit online. I haven't brought a car yet. I can see the economy being an issue once you finished them, but at the moment its something that as yet to affect me (not saying its not an issue). Theres a lot of game there that isn't affected by its economy. Have too see how it pans out.

I've lifted some figures from GTPlanet. Gives an idea of how much credit you can/could earn per hour from each game in the franchise. They've halved the amount of credit you can earn per hour with the update. Gran Turismo 6 – 3.55m credits/hr Gran Turismo Sport – 2.04m credits/hr Gran Turismo 7 (v1.06) – 1.75m credits/hr Gran Turismo 4 – 1.69m credits/hr Gran Turismo 2 – 1.35m credits/hr Gran Turismo 5 – 0.87m credits/hr Gran Turismo 7 (v1.07) – 0.85m credits/hr Gran Turismo 3 – 0.50m credits/hr Gran Turismo 1 – 0.50m credits/hr These figures are for how long it would take to earn enough to buy one of the most expensive cars in the game at about 20 million. Gran Turismo 1 – 1 hour (8 races) Gran Turismo 2 – 1.5 hours (14 races) Gran Turismo 4 – 2.7 hours (32 races) Gran Turismo 6 – 5.8 hours (90 races) Gran Turismo 3 – 7.5 hours (5 races) Gran Turismo Sport – 9.9 hours (84 races) Gran Turismo 7 (v1.06) – 10.9 hours (205 races) Gran Turismo 7 (v1.07) – 17.8 hours (333 races) Gran Turismo 5 – 23.3 hours (315 races) www.gtplanet.net/gt7-latest-update-has-outraged-fans-20220317/

I'm not sure it's going to affect me too much but that's shitty as fuck.

GT5 had B-Spec at least though. Get that absurd Red Bull thing, set it racing a 10 hour endurance run, go to work, sorted.

Do this numbers include the income from there high value cars you could earn and sell in gt1/2? That's how I remember making all my money in those games.

Just bought it. Need a totally different game to counter Elden Ring intensity.

But I mean to put a different spin on this you could say they’ve adjusted it from one of the most generous grinds to bang average for the series… Maybe I’m just not so bothered because I couldn’t give two shits about collecting everything

Plus let’s not forget those are maximum potential earnings from whatever event is the most broken in each game and not really indicative of real gameplay

I’m aware I sound like an apologist by the way. But truthfully the game doesn’t strike me as grindy at all let alone overly grindy. I’ve got barely any free time to play games lately so I’d recognise a forced grind a mile away and this isn’t setting me off.

WTF is with the “copying the update file” thing taking so long

I wondered the same. Surely with storage that speed it shouldn’t take ten times longer to copy from itself to itself than to download.

Hmm, I’m still working through the cafe menus… mostly because I stalled due to the broken tyre issue. On about 400k after buying a 911 and tuning one given car for each task. I’ve needed to tune everything before using it though and, despite doing plenty of races, couldn’t buy anything exactly exotic at this point. The apology was bizarre. We want you to enjoy the game but in the very specific way we proscribe- there’ll be no easy grinding so if you want to collect cars in our car collecting game then please be a good customer and buy those microtransactions. Any MTX beyond the trivial and cosmetic, in a full priced game, are complete wank for me.

I read it as "we have a long term plan of releasing a lot more stuff to earn money on so we don't want people to unlock everything easily" but I'm probably giving them the benefit of the doubt because of how much stuff they added to GT Sport for free.
I don't normally get massively outraged by this stuff though. I'm pretty indifferent to it if I'm enjoying a game and don't feel forced into buying stuff which I definitely don't here.

First roulette spin post patch, possible prizes : small stack of coins, larger stack of coins, gold bar, car part, car. Make your guess at what I got : The larger stack, 30K coins so not the worst prize at least. I wasn't so lucky. Some things never change it seems.

I've got like 2.3m and I've been quite happy splashing the cash on upgrades on cars and cosmetic stuff as I've gone through the game. I wouldn't say it's terribly skewed towards MTX, but we'll see how the new prize funds affect that.

Hadn't really looked at the missions bit I'm quite enjoying just working through them when I can't be arsed to get the wheel out.

Some tasty looking races in the later mission lists too. 30 lappers and such.

I stumbled upon a thread over at GTP. One guy has done a YouTube video that demonstrates how much ride height make a difference to how a car handles. The higher the ride height the more stable the car becomes. I can't argue with the evidence having now tested it but makes cars look ridiculous. youtu.be/toGMjkMsdNo

TBH I have the ride height low and increase the stiffness etc. Increasing toe-in makes a big difference to turn in but does sacrifice a bit of straight line stability.

I wonder what the backstory is of GT racer dude having to start in last place in every race.

Yes I know I could watch the demonstration to get a better idea of what to do I know what to do I’m crashing my car into the barrier because it’s a quicker way of starting the license run again you big spoon faced fucking twat.
