I’m up to about menu 19 and I’ve recently done the Mustang one. Spent about a quarter of a million on buying a Mach 1 and Beasting it up including a 100g nitro pack! Great fun. Both national A and B all done on gold and just looking to finish the menus now to get to the proper racing. I am measly with my money. I try and spend as little as possible getting a suitable car for the race up to the recommended PP. 30k tops usually does it. |

Speaking of rain I tackled the Porsche cup last night at Spa. Does the game warn you beforehand that it's likely to rain during an event? The event started in sunshine and then turned to rain (the dynamic weather looked and worked great btw) and I was caught short on soft tyres. I assumed it was a random bit of bad luck and tried again but the rain started at the exact same point in the race. I then quit out and restarted with intermediates and of course, no fucking rain. The AI frontrunner, it has to be said, looked completely unaffected by the track conditions despite me slipping all over the place. I guess you have to assume he was on intermediate tyres... Yeah he will have been on intermediates, I got caught out both ways last night. Dry tyres on a wet track and wet tyres on a dry one. You need to buy the tyres for whatever car you you're using in case you need to pit and change. Then you need to keep an eye on the weather radar (one of the dpad options) to track rain thats due/how long it is going to last. See pitting to change the tyres would make sense, but it was a 5 or 6 lap event so pitting when nobody else has to surely meant an instant loss, so I had wondered if the event mentioned the rain beforehand so I could prepare intermediates. I couldn't see it anywhere The radar didn't show anything at all until the rain was already on top of me. It's fine if you just have to learn the event by failing at it once but I felt like I was missing some crucial information |

Oh, I'm with you.
All the shorter races I've done it was just a case of tiptoeing in the rain. If one of the AI's was pounding around like it wasn't there I can only guess it's a bug of some sort.

It's shitty gacha odds after a game that used to give you a free car a day by doing your 26 miles.
The car on offer in my last spin was a Clio, a car everyone should fucking have after a couple of menus. It's a nice car but I don't need two of them, I got 2K (the smallest stack) instead.

Last night though, I did win the gold bar off a 4 (or possibly 5) star ticket and that was worth 500,000 credits! |

10k, 5k and 2k usually. Got some cam shaft that can only be fitted to Scirocco R, worth 5.5k.

I got the gold bars reward last night too! 500,000 here as well.
A little part of me does miss the grind of the older GT games. You used to have to repeat the same events all the time in your shitty banger saving up for the next upgrade, next car etc. It's surely why the Sunday Cup is so nostalgic for some people as that was the simplest thing to hammer away at. Getting a random gift of 500,000 credits back then would be unimaginable.

Fuck's sake, I got some right tat when I had the roulette with the gold bar as well.
I'm up to a balance of 2m now, but that's after all the menu books being done and a fair few high performance 10-lappers. Amounts to about 1 top end car.
