I'm up to about 38/39ish. How many are there? About 39.

Ha, no way, I had to check. Turns out I'm on the second to last one, the Ferrari collection. Training wheels off soon then.

Tried some of the side races but I can't remember anything from the menu books for stuff like that. Last thing I did was a 700pp touring car championship. I haven't really strayed much from the linear path yet.

Yeah that's what I meant, is there any GT3 type stuff in the menus.
Guess it's the chilli pepper races and stuff that make up the bulk of it after the menus are done.

Yeah the menus are basically 'Collect these 3 cars', with the odd 3 race Championship that have gone up to as high as 700pp as I've got towards the end. Not been much use for GT3 stuff up to now.
Seems the real high performance stuff is the chilli pepper races and whatever opens up after the menus are done with.

Oh, I've just got to the last championship in the menus and that is literally the first one to let you use GR3 stuff.

Just had an online race where there of us finished across the line hundredths of a second of each other. Three way battle across the line. Fucking epic.
Super glad I brought the feel. Getting used to it now. That was One of those races where you don’t think about your inputs, you’re just racing.

So finishing the menu has unlocked a bunch of stuff on a lot of tracks. There's some world touring car Gr3 stuff but nothing that goes beyond 10 lap races yet. Endurance races and such must be behind another gate of progression once I've done some of this stuff I guess.

Seems like these 10 lappers that have unlocked are almost an introduction to the endurance stuff. You can select fuel maps to decide your power:fuel use ratio on the fly using the D-Pad and the different compounds of tyres have different levels of life. As an endurance racing nerd this has me nursing a semi right now. Hopefully there are off and online events to take advantage of this stuff.

Most of the tracks are finding their way into my head. That’s why I hate reverse courses so much. You do all that work to memorise tracks so you can find you inner racing peace and become one with the ebbs and flows of those winding concrete rivers. Then they flip it so none of the corners make any sense and any flow is destroyed by weird braking points and stupid cambers. Stop it. I am a long way behind you lot with this, but God this annoys me.

I think in GT Sport the third daily online race was always 10+ laps which accounted for tyre wear and fuel consumption. I think they havn’t introduced the third daily yet to give people time to unlock stuff etc.

Yeah it was pretty much exclusively all I did in GT Sport. Easily the best online racing I've taken part in.

I just spunked all my money on the 25th anniversary Countach. With some tyres I’ve got 395 credits left. I feel a bit sick. I’m tighter with money in games than I am with actual real life purchases.

I’m unreasonably annoyed that there’s no trophy progress tracking. Massive first party release, trophies for “drive a trillion miles in x mode”, system level tracking feature, and not turned on. Cunts.

I’m sure there must be a trick to it, but how the hell are you supposed to see that full pelt corner at Mount Panorama in the dark?!
Held my breath, took a guess and am still travelling somewhere across the outback at speed.

I see it by remembering the 14 times I went flying off there on my first visits to the track.
Really enjoy that circuit tbf. Nice mix of twisty street type stuff and flat out sections.

Yeah the twisty section up on the hill is a lot of fun and feels really satisfying with the wheel. Never been a huge fan of it before in other games but GT7 just seems to feel 'right'. Can't explain it. Maybe i'm just a fanboy.

I'll fanboy with you, I really like it. That twisty section has a lovely flow to it.

I’ve always loved the track since I first came across it in in Toca Race Driver. Just a very cool track all round, elevation changes, twisty technical sections and balls out straights.

Does it seem like there's plenty to do after the menus then Solid?

Does it seem like there's plenty to do after the menus then Solid? Yeah, a fair amount of 10-lap high performance races unlock around the world map after you do the last menu, and they all seem to have fuel and tyre scaling so they will each need pit stops and stuff. Few more chilli pepper races have opened up and I'm expecting more to unlock when I pass the higher level licenses. I've only unlocked whatever they asked me to do in the menus (National A?) and everything that's unlocked seems to have done so at my license level. From what I can tell the menu books seem to have been basically the tutorial getting you used to different levels of cars/drivetrains/surfaces, and the real Gran Turismo starts now.
