Also bought this yesterday, but spent the day playing Horizon so haven’t put much time into racing yet. Got golds through the first licences, collected the Japanese and European compacts, and then had life shit to deal with.

I'm reluctant to set mine up as I know once I try it with the wheel there's no going back.

Only playing it with the wheel but I'm not too impressed with the FFB in places. The second Music Rally is awful with the wheel jerking with little feeling of weight in between. In contrast I binned it off last night and jumped into ACC and it feels so much better. Appreciate that's all about GT cars but, to me at least, the FFB is much better implemented and consistent. Seeing as the Fanatec wheel is Sony approved I'd have thought they'd want users to be able to make the most of it.
How do other wheel users think it feels?

Having to traipse back and forth between races and the cafe all the time is becoming an increasing pain in the arse, probably moreso where I’m on PS4.
I hope Luca fucks off soon.

I think the T300 feels great but perhaps i’m easily pleased. Quite a lot of subtle stuff going on and nice little touches when you get nudged by the AI etc. Honestly though, Decks will probably be a better judge as he uses it more than me.

I haven't used it for ages to be honest. Last time it got a decent outing was when Dirt Rally 2 was out. She's ready though.

Had a good time this morning just aiming for the best possible times on some of the license tests. Definitely gonna be my cosy game of choice for a while.

Couldn’t get gold on B-10 on the wheel . Annoying got it first time with the controller and now I’m doubting my abilities with a wheel

Are there any set track time trial events in this, like Forza Rivals, or are the license tests the only leaderboards available?

The circuit experience stuff used to be good for leaderboards on Sport. Pretty sure it's in this too.

Circuit Experience is there yeah. You can find it when you click into a location on the map.

Yeah, one of the cafe missions has you doing the circuit experience on Dragon Trail with a Peugeot to prepare you for the Euro championship.

OK, I buckled and bought some credit for £62 and have smashed through the golds on the b license.
3 or 4 tricky ones. The final one I found the hardest. That long slow bend is a nightmare to get right.
It's the perfect foil to Elden Ring, bright and cheery and lots of plinky plonk jazz.

I will add a few you lot later but already have a full list of FG folks in the top 10 leaderboards.

I'm working my work through doing all the license tests at the moment. Just done IA-3 which was a rally event in a Ford Focus. I'm ashamed to say this but I like the rally driving with a wheel it's just stupid fun. It's not Dirt Rally 2.0 physics or as brutal obviously.
I'm going for all gold and having one or two more goes after just to give you lot something to chase. Fair play to anyone who beats my gold time in that Focus though!

Had a few career races and done a couple of the menu book things. Got my B licence but with mostly bronze so need to go back and try for gold's. Playing with the pad at the moment, but really want to save this for wheel use.

Seriously why does the menu thing at the top not give you a shortcut to the café

The racing is sublime but the UI is gash. Wanted to check out Scapes mode and instead had to click through a visual novel for several minutes and be forced to setup and take a photo of something I didn’t give a shit about before it would trust me enough to be able to read a menu for myself.

Yeah, doing anything requires around 27 more button presses than necessary.

It is a bit like they’ve not heard of UX at Polyphony. I’ve passed a licence test… why isn’t there a button to go straight to the next one? Instead I have to exit and do it myself. Gah.
Good game though, I like how weighty the cars are although it doesn’t like it if you immediately try to catch a slide - at least with a controller it seems happier if you leave it a bit before getting opposite lock on.
And is it me or are there no skidmarks?
And is there a way to let you pan the camera using the outside view?
Sorry… not had a GT game since 2!

You can quick jump back to the world map using the top left button in the panel. Not perfect but saves a fair bit of faff.
Races really start getting good at around menu book 30; when it starts putting performance limits on races. Just done an absolutely brilliant 3 race Championship where I beat 2nd place by just 1 point and every race in the series came down to the absolute wire. The racing is sublime when you hit the difficulty sweet spot.

Ah good news, I was hoping performance limits would kick in it some point.
I generally refrain from upgrading cars too much anyway, other than whacking on some new tires and brakes, but it can be a bit of a challenge when those races crop up with one driver in a ridiculously overpowered car.
