Wait, so unless you specifically go and switch it off, you have to wait 8 minutes to play every time you boot the game? I didn't appear to be able to skip it when I mashed some buttons but who knows. Bronze in button-mashing to Dougs.

Bronze is about right tbh. I am shit at this really, my usual arcade racing style not best suited.

At the jump I chose expert controls, with a PAD. So I'm gonna blame my shit performance on that.
But. I see it as, PS1 and PS2 GTs didn't have Forza racelines, so why handicap myself here?

All assists off FTW. I don't mind using traction control etc if the real world car has it, though

What was the magic cockpit setting someone mentioned earlier?
Also, can’t decide whether I like “wobble 1” or “wobble 2” 🤪 As long as I look into the distance I think I like 2, though felt a bit queasy at first.

It's called offset, it's next to the wobble menu. I stuck with wobble 1 fwiw

Damn though, it does load slowly for a PS5 game. I'm here like "is this PS2?" Wut? The menus are a bit on the clunky side, but actual loading is as good as instant for me.

Bah, after a quick go yesterday I don’t think I’ll be able to get back on this until tomorrow. Being an adult fucking sucks balls.

Fooksake. I am enjoying my time with Elden Ring but... new shinies and maybe a good fit for swapping games about. Will power! Will not buy, yet! It’s the Perfect I need a break from Elden Ring game. Just saying.

The chilli pepper ranked races (best difficulty metric ever, btw) are some real shit. The AI do not fuck about in them, and they are more aggressive than I've ever seen in a GT game. Hopefully there are plenty more of them that unlock as the career progresses.

Yeah, perfect game to play alongside Horizon for me. Got pretty much a full day of switching between the two ahead of me. Glorious!

One thing I miss from Sport is the cones, they were a nice real looking thing to give a bit of assistance when learning a track, the pins in GT7 are rubbish in comparison and I've switched them off.

The pins are more for positional purposes anyway. If you're braking at those you're gonna have a bad day. Absolutely no idea why they swapped the cones though, they were great. It'll be a cold day in hell before I'm having big red stripy eyesores all over the road, I'm just learning by eye.

Having only recently got a PS5 for Elden Ring, I'd not experienced the haptic feedback from the triggers before, and it's glorious. Completely transforms playing a racing game on a pad for me.
Can see me sinking a lot of time into this. As someone else said, it's the perfect game to take a break from Souls bleakness

Getting the plat in Astro continues to be my number 1 recommendation for all new PS5 owners, GT7's DualSense use is stellar though.

They’re aggressive, and not above pit manoeuvring you but they feel lively and a million miles better than the moving chicanes in some racing games.

I won't get this unless maybe on sale as I'm too shit at racing games and never stick with them but I am curious, how good is this? How pretty?

Hope some one knows but I think I’ve fucked it. I’ve bought the PS4 version of the Anniversary edition and can’t see anyway of upgrading it on the store. Do I have to do it from the game or is it from the store?
I’m guessing as I can’t see an option in the store the PS4 version I have can’t be upgraded - raging.

I'm going to say it. 1 plip of traction control is essential for the rwd cars.

Traction control is nothing to be ashamed of, most cars have it in real life.

I'm hopping between 0 and 1. Some cars are ridiculously nervous on 0, but the amount of pull you lose coming out of corners can be really bad.

Built up close to a million credits now, and I begrudge having to spend any of them to buy a pickup truck for the next missions. Stingy cunt I am.

I'm using the one with the road and dials whatever you want to call that. I'll to dash cam every now and again but just end up going back.
