I’m really looking forward to the midfield partnership of Casemiro and Amrabat. They look like they will complement each other well. Both always looking for the ball and both very good with the ball.

That was ridiculous control with his head. Why doesn't Garnacho start more?

Even Maguire has looked solid… This comment sums up United tonight.

Yeah, we were much better today. Hopefully get things started a bit now.

It was head and shoulders the best performance of the season. Completely dominant and controlled. Can't remember the last time we had a game won before 60 mins and could afford to bring on youngsters etc.
Gore with a nice cameo in midfield, thought he looked tidy.
Hopefully he's good, but not too good for the next year or two and we can nab him (Irish qualified - dad is Irish).

Played well yeah, pleased to see Amrabat playing all 11 positions almost. Mind you it can't be stressed that Palace were pretty poor, easiest competition we've had so far. And now that I've said that, watch as they beat us on Sat.

May have been poor but we finally took advantage of that and controlled the game. We have not done that for a long time.

Palace clearly weren't interested, but you can only beat the team that's in front of you. United looked much more like ETH wants us to play last night. Amrabat and Casemiro linked up really well, covered each other properly when the other ventured forwards and generally looked like they've played together for years. Mount looked decent in the first half, Hannibal brings great energy to things and Garnacho and Pellistri look a step up from Antony and Sancho, quite frankly. Positives.

Pellistri was generally positive but there's a serious halo effect at play here. Loads of my mates saying he had a great game last night. He had an ok game, he has a huge issue physically. Almost any time physical pressue was applied he lost the ball or allowed the defender to get a touch on it or just bully him off the ball.
Conversely Garnacho is much more physically able, fair enough he's had an extra year in the first team but I never saw as many issues with him as I do with Pellistri there. Again I'm talking about the physical side. It's so important in the Premier league, particularly in a game where we have less control, that would be a bigger issue.

I'd have taken a positive performance against Wealdstone under 16's B with the Raider himself playing in goal after the way we've started this season. Need to build some momentum somehow.

I don't know about a great game, but he was decent. His final ball and touch in the box was a bit lacking, but he mostly progressed the ball well and tracked back, covering a lot of ground which allowed Dalot to be progressive too and that basically directly led to the first two goals (the cross, the corner both came from Dalot pressing forward).
I think the other stuff will come with confidence as he gets more starts, which seems likely now. I don't think it was particularly a physical thing in general last night, although not to say it didn't happen a couple of times.

I'm in the Pellistri isn't going to make it camp and thought he was below average last night. He's too raw and always needs that extra touch which allows the physically superior players to bully him.

I don't think I'm in the not going to make it camp but he definitely has shortcomings that I think will be exposed if he starts a lot of games. Completely agree re extra touch, he had a coupe of half chances in the box but took an extra half touch to set himself on a couple of occasions and got easily blocked. He certainly deserves more playing time in the coming weeks as he did put in a huge amount of energy last night and took up some great positions.

If he can improve his play when he comes inside I might change my tune, but atm he's a limited old school winger that would have thrived in the 90s.

Good to see you folks a litle cheerier I did say I thought it would be a different picture by the next international break. Obviously a few games to go but hopefully the improvement continues. We're at least getting some players back into the squad in important positions but lets see how we get on versus a full strength Palace at the weekend.

That was ridiculous control with his head. Why doesn't Garnacho start more? I would play Garnacho every week, if only because he genuinely looks like he gives a shit.

Except for when he started the first few games of the season when he was wasteful, didn't track back or put in the defensive work. Still young and getting his minutes managed well by ETH I do wish he'd come on earlier when Rashford is having an off day or rotated into the starting line up in PL games. He'll be a star though.

He's very exciting and will be top tier, he'll get plenty of opportunities throughout the season. Wish ETH would be a bit more ruthless rotating him in when Rashford is out of form or not putting the work in on the pitch.

No VAR in the cup, so absolutely no refereeing decisions will be made.

Blimey Arsenal really digging into their "back catalogue" tonight with some of the subs, Elneny and Cedric coming on.
