PD crashed to desktop as as was entering my first return gate.... rebooted and huzzah I was back at the garage with all my stuff!
Was worried that after replaying the entire demo area again, I'd lost that progression.
Looking forward to a new zone and hoping the anomalies are plentiful.
Performance feels a bit better than the demo but seems most of the launch patch was fixing ui and game mechanics stuff.

Completed Bioshock Infinite, the closer I got to the end, the more I started to remember why I thought it was turd compared to the first 2. Playing all 3 in succession also highlighted the decline 1 -> 3
Being forced to used vendor stations to purchase health or ammo mid fight is such a shit mechanic. The enemies just becomes bullet sponges in the later fights and you have to engage with the rails as you're forced into mobility. This would5 be such a bad thing if when you land on a rail and want to target an enemy to land on but the game constantly fights the camera back to the original x,y,z location you were facing when you left the ground so you either get shot to shit or completely miss your target and rail away.

I've started played Noita on the deck and I'm quickly getting hooked in. Roguelike pixel wizard spelunking game from 2017 where every pixel is simulated. Lots of materials in lots of states with enemies all over.
It does not hold your hand and I've died. A lot. Got to second area twice but my wand knowledge is not good enough

Haha, thanks I doubt what they've shown here is everything tbh (and what they did show is kinda bloody good, anyway!)... Or at least I doubt there's only three melee weapon types, the character is shown having two katanas in some clips anyway if I saw correctly. Besides, it's not like they have to have fists for me to have a good time, it's just appreciated because they do a great job with them

Not to mention that in both Nioh 2 and Wo Long fists were DLC (in SoP it wouldn't really make sense not to have them from the start, considering the Monk job class has been in FF since the very beginning). So you know, even if it's not there initially... *nudge nudge*

There's a crazy amount of games that I want to play at the moment. Pentiment, Pacific Drive, FF7 Rebirth, Balatro and Pocket Card Jockey. I don't even know where to start.. I have FF7 on pre-order, so perhaps that. I must resist buying any of the others..

Balatro feels like something you can easily play alongside a bigger story driven game. I'm still chipping away at P3R with that on the go too. Although you might end up not playing any of the other game because it's just so fuckin good...

JuniorFE Are you planning to get Ronin at launch, or wait a bit?

That's a joint affair with JonFE , but most likely. Our local store has preorders open (and they acquitted themselves splendidly with Tears of the Kingdom, even let us pick it up early) but we're also considering the digital (maybe even deluxe?) version Really though, it's mostly the "how" that's in question, not the "when"

I'm planning to buy Rise of the Ronin *or* Dragon's Dogma II at launch, then pick up the other once I've finished my playthrough of whichever one I buy first (by which time the price will hopefully have dropped a bit). Maybe I'll go with DD2 on the 22nd, so you and DadFE can make headway with Ronin; that way, I can rely on your experience with the latter by time I get started, as I did with the Niohs and Wo Long

So the demo for Unicorn Overlord is perhaps the most generous demo since Dragon Quest XI. Because it essentially lets you play the first 6-7 hours of the game. It's timed so you can't play it infinitely, but you can make decent progress into the games story, I've done about 4-5 side quests that were about 30 mins each and naturally, your save data carries over to the full game.
It might also be one of the games of the year? If you're a fan of turn based tactical RPG's, like FF Tactics or Ogre Battle specifically, you prob should be paying attention to the game. I had thought it would be a case of assembling units and engage in turn based battle where you can select character's skill etc based on the gameplay. But on first impressions the combat seemed more automatic, party members were just picking the attacks, almost like the game was playing itself. But it doesnt take long to realise that actually, the combat is much closer to the likes of FFXII's gambit system which I love. As character gain new gear that comes with skills or learn new skills, some are dependent upon conditions like 'Enemy HP = 100%'. Add that to the formation and positioning of your party members within a unit and the synergy between classes, then it becomes a case of strategising and optimising the most efficient battle plans. On top of all this it's a Vanillaware game so the graphics and artwork are gorgeous, the soundtrack is great, story seems pretty straightforward so far but interesting. Would really recommend this to anyone right now, I know it's a busy time of year and unfortunately there is no good time for this game to come out, especially one week after FF7. But this could be a real sleeper hit this year.

Apparently Dragons Dogma 2 will have a demo by the end of next week. Also it's apparently running at 60fps.

A shame (kinda? Game is now in a better state though it's probably not long before servers are down) but it's hardly unexpected. It's something honestly no one asked for. It might be one of the worst examples of live service chase trending I think I've seen, because it didn't work on any level, even conceptually.

Yeah it always seemed to be facing a uphill battle.
I would like them to switch off the micro transactions for Crash Racing and get the leveling up back to how it was at launch.

Extremely nice website that remembers when games came in nice big boxes, and shows you a lovely 3D render of that box from all angles.
Look, look. Quake II.

You have the biggest selling game of last year and what could be this year's biggest flop so you decided... to go with the 2nd games formula.
