Rumour is 2K have got the Fifa rights. If the next game isn't called Fifa 2K25, I'll be disappointed.

Proper old school Resident Evil Played the demo and while I like survival horrror, it feels like 32 bit game with all the poor controls and no improvements games have made since then (there is more modern controls but still not good)

The Tomb Raider Remastered collection is looking very nice. Not sure what is going on with the modern controls though. The preview I watched seems to suggest you can’t walk backwards whilst aiming your guns, which makes combat look like a complete nightmare!
Fortunately I’m a traditionalist and will be clunking my way through the game with the original, super precise controls.

My Switch needs some love and I hear it’s 60fps in remaster mode.

I’m tempted by Tomb Raiider remaster too, but will wait for some proper reviews. These games are HARD and I’m not sure I have the time or patience for them now. They could be blatantly unfair at points too; I don’t know if I want to put my fat mid-50’s fingers through all that again.
But when that haunting music starts, I’ll probably give in.

Yeah I posted a retrospective a few weeks back, about how difficult they are. The insanely hard line up jumps, and getting lost where to go. I’m pretty impressed by what I’ve seen so far, and plus I’ve never completed any of them.. I vaguely remember having a phobia of the underwater sections as a kid.

zisssou I really wanted to get them on Switch, as they are a perfect fit, but the other half wants to play for the achievements, so Xbox it is. It does seem to run very well on Switch though. It looks as if that was the target platform for the remaster.

I completed 1 and 2 back in the day but yeah, they were heller hard and not sure I have the patience now either.

I'm not sure I completed any of them, seen to remember getting sick and just using level select cheats to check the rest of the levels out.
Depending on reviews, might have to correct that oversight.

I really like exploring the levels in Tomb Raider. yes, they are hard, but you make do somehow. On the other hand, I've always hated the combat system. That's probably why I couldn't get on with the sequels, since they ramped up the amount of enemies.
Need to try Last Revelation someday, since apparently it's a bit closer to the original game (but a lot harder).

Immortals of Aveum former dev says it "was a truly awful idea" to make in today's market
reportedly cost around $125 million, don't they have people looking at the game when they are making it? it was mis priced in recent xbox sale for £8 and didn't want to use any MS rewards on it as it looks so bland. I don't think it looks shit like some of the crap like last year

It's just average. Should have been 3rd person.
Would love to know what they used that budget on.

I installed Hawked yesterday because the blurb said it was an extraction shooter, and I tend to like those.
Actually it doesn’t have the risk/reward element of losing stuff you took in with you if you die (unless that comes later), it’s more like a Fortnite squad game where you drop in with nothing, and have to quickly find guns and loot before you run into any enemies or other squads. The artifacts you’re extracting with give you abilities you can equip, and I haven’t got far enough into it to see how those affect the game, but it seems fairly competent. Although it does show that it’s Early Access in places, I got stuck on scenery in the tutorial more than once.
The shooting and general vibe are very Fortnite-esque, and I’m pretty familiar with that, so I’m interested to see if it takes off at all.

Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance:
A new RTS. The Game Star reviewer seems to be liking it. Good story and tactical depth, but apparently not much base building. Units gain experience and can be upgraded. Apparently no hitpoints for units and limited ammo and fuel, damage model and so on. Heavy on micromanagement.
It's out in a few days.

Whisper it, but I've been playing some Foam Stars. It's honestly not bad gameplay wise, even if almost everything surrounding it can be quite annoying. Not sure if it's got legs though. I have fun but matchmaking already takes a while and that's for just 8 player lobbies. Played the demo and while I like survival horrror, it feels like 32 bit game with all the poor controls and no improvements games have made since then (there is more modern controls but still not good) Gave it a go as well. Felt similarly because it just didn't feel all that satisfying to play and like you need to wrestle with the controls to achieve things. I know that's what it's going for but we left some of those design decisions behind because they were kinda shit, not just for the sake of change. I dunno though, a lot of the reviews are quite positive and it definitely does achieve the vibe it's going for so maybe I'm just looking at it wrong

I only saw footage that showed it as a typical RTS and then saw the trailer...haha, mental.

Inscryption - anyone tried the Switch version? Really want to give this a go. I did a quick search to see if anyone has played this. It's on sale £8.99. Plays really great!

Yes, got some mention in the Steam Fest thread but that is a little off-piste. I loved my time with the demo. Definitely enjoyed the vibe though the interface is indeed deep and somewhat unintuitive at first. I'd imagine keyboard/mouse is going to be much easier than joypad navigation but I hear there are quite a lot of customisable playstyle that might help - at the cost of some features. I get the feeling it may be a marmite sort of game, and rogue-likes are not generally my sort of thing but the setting and car-based stuff has meant I'm installing later today!

I love the idea of Pacific Drive, but the reviews seemed quite mixed. EGs is one of the most positive ones. RPS says there is quite a lot of repetition. Think I might wait for a patch or two.

I keep meaning to give the demo a go. Shillup's review made it sound like something I could dig, but I need to stop dumping money on games I don't get around to playing...
/edit £14.49 at cdkeys... Resistance has crumbled!

Hmm I also like the look of Pacific Drive. Trying to talk myself out of grabbing it. I certainly don't need it just now. It looks cool though.

Yeah me too. Although I know I'm going to fucking buy it anyway. Probably tonight. Then hate myself, play it once and move on to something else. It looks very atmospheric.

Mmmh, I think the demo is not available anymore unfortunately. Impressions seem to be positive. Skill up and ACG already had their reviews out I think. ChopperBy the way, how does Last Epoch run for you? I swear the recommended GPU used to be a GTX 1060 but now it has been changed to GTX 3060.

I liked the look of Pacific Drive, but the more I see of it the more it seems like 95% rifling through cupboards for stuff, 5% actually doing things in your car.
