It’s the “cowboy stuff” that I struggle with. I don’t see the appeal at all. Horses? Far better in a medieval / fantasy setting of knights and - well, I hesitate to say dragons now - but horses in things like Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones are great. In Westerns they’re just a slightly rubbish form of transport. Guns? Always good in action movies, but guns in Westerns are always the shit guns that feel slow and cumbersome. Slow firing revolvers or hunting rifles. There’s far more excitement to be had from modern or future weaponry (lasers!!) or if you go the other way, the noble sword. Chewing tobacco, drinking whiskey in saloon bars… tumbleweed and stand offs in dusty streets… cowboy hats… cattle rustling and lassoes… the tropes and cliches aren’t even that interesting. It’s just a period of American history where things were pretty dull. Cowboys were real though... LotR and GoT are made up bollocks
I doubt medieval times were as glamourous as they appear in fantasy fiction. It would have been a terrible time to live for most people
Agreed. I think the whole knights and swords and that stylish melee combat thing is blown out of proportion, carried away by tales of heroic swordsmen, when in fact I don't think that it was ever like that, just messy and bloody and scary and I can't think of any sort of combat I'd rather be involved in less. I'm all for escapism, but fuck fighting a fucking monster with a longsword. 😁

I'll just add cyberpunk and steampunk to the list of themes with no appeal whatsoever

I think I agree with that. I love Blade Runner but beyond that, anything cyberpunk just seems lame. But in BR it's more the aesthetic rather than all the silly hacker stuff

Instead they'd use a hammer as that would crush the flesh and bone underneath

Swords are great for sliding through the eye slits in the helmets though.

There is one very sexy dragon in it, but I can't really say too much more because we're deep in pre-production just now.
It's essentially a dragon made of boobs. No nipples though. Can't go hard R with this or we won't recoup the financing after the Chinese pulled out. They wanted Neo Beijing but I said that it would never work and the whole concept hinges on Neo Tokyo on account of the main central action sequence in the karaoke bar.

Probably the most interesting I've found a GoT clip. Now let's see him fight a dragon with a longsword...

Wunty crossed Shadowrun with Cowboy Bebop and he’s about to rake in that good Zack Snyder money.

Maybe you could get that rating down by having products placed to obscure the view of nipples?

That particular guy can fuck off into the goddamn sun, and he knows damn well why. Hmmm, I don’t know whether you are referring to me or that YouTuber. I just did my usual search for ‘insert name controversy’ and have now seen what I presume you are referring to, which I was not aware of. I’m presuming you are referring to the ‘Empire guilt’ stuff I’ve just been reading. No, I don’t like his take at all, and although I haven’t actually watched him for years (since looking for GoT videos when that show was a going concern in fact), I’ll likely give him a miss in future if these are his views. Apologies.

Apologies. Not you, buddy. I have had a personal dislike of the guy for over twenty years, for reasons regarding his treatment of one of my exes. He needed a smack in the mouth back then, and minor fame won't have done anything to improve his off-camera personality since then.
If his head swelled up as literally as it will have done figuratively, it would look hydrocephalic.

"Rock And Roll Is King" by Electric Light Orchestra is an inferior rip-off of Johnny B. Goode.
