Always go for performance mode straight away with any game without even looking at graphics mode. You don't miss what you never had. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has a bug on Series X that sets it to graphics mode every time you load the game (even if it's suspended) and I can tell straight away. It's more about the feel than the way it looks
I remember playing Nioh and Bloodborne at the same time and switching from Nioh to BB is pretty shocking. You get used to it after a while but it's rough in contrast

That 40fps mode R&C used was the sweet spot for me. Hopefully more games can adopt that as an option too.

Not sure if this is actually an unpopular opinion, but I hate the Donkey from Shrek character archetype. It's basically the one reason why I've stopped watching animated movies. You just know there's going to be at least one comic relief sidekick, and you just know he's gonna be exactly like that.
Then again, looking at more recent releases, it seems things might be a little better now?

I mean, without them it would just be the protagonist silently getting on with their business which would actually be quite funny with Shrek.

No story to Shrek without Donkey. He scares humans, fairy tale creatures away from his swamp, farts, end credits.

So-called 'soulful' singing often sounds affected and banal, and is utterly lacking in authentic emotion.

So-called 'soulful' singing often sounds affected and banal, and is utterly lacking in authentic emotion. Adele's wailing as a prime example. Rolling In the Deep is a certified banger though. My unpopular take is that I think people are mental for liking Vampire Survivors. It's shit and not digital crack. Just shit.

Its why I cant stand Lewis Capaldi. His songs are all shouted in a grating honk that goes through me like a knife.
Emotion = shouting louder

Yeah, he's a good one. Although I did like his Glastonbury entrance.
I'm adding Sam Smith to the list as well.

It is literally designed by a man specialising in creating gambling addictions and is morally vile. I also love it and have spent far too much time on it, but have deleted in and am trying to avoid.

Well... many games have real money loot box gambling, microtransactions and other pay-to-win mechanics, Vampire Survivors doesn't. So I don't think "everything wrong with gaming" applies

I downloaded it from the App Store and was surprised to find it free with no microtransactions apart from the option to revive by watching an add which I've definitely never used when I've died just seconds away from my goal, no sirree.
It is kind of shit though.

How they handled the mobile version is a lesson in how to do these kind of things properly. There's a nice end of year wrap up that goes over some of this. store.steampowered.com/news/app/1794680/view/3637250052875666496Yeah it's addictive as fuck, but that's definitely not something they've leveraged in a predatory way that I've seen. I can totally see why people don't like the game itself though.

I hate it as I get addicted to games like that and feel guilty I haven't spent time playing something I actually enjoy more.

I have a suspicion that we're all in the "omg this guy is giving us free drugs!" stage, and once he's got enough people hooked there's going to be hundreds of microtransactions and dlc released.

Andor is boring - don't get where the adulation is coming from. I guess 'boring' is a decent result for the recent run of Disney produced Star Wars content.
I genuinely tried with this one - dropped out after three episodes, then gave two more episodes a try after forumites said it picks up after these but it's just as dull as ever. The lead actor has as much range as a wet carrott too.

We've only watched the first episode so far. The ten-year-old loved Mando and BoBF, and we'd heard great things about it.
It started off a bit more "adult" than we wanted for her (brothel, murder, and all) and it hasn't really grabbed any of us.
I know a lot of folk on here love it, and claim it to be some of the best TV they've seen, even for non-SW-fans, but the Mrs. and I are not in any hurry to watch the next instalment...

The first three episodes should be watched as a short movie to get the best effect.
Also, it is rated a little higher at 12 isn’t it?

Then gave it three more episodes, so I got halfway through the season. It just got duller and duller with each new episode. Which is a shame too, because I really enjoyed Rogue One, and the trailer looked incredible. But yeah, it bored me to tears.
